Use year does matter

I am reading these boards and researching before I commit to buy a DVC membership.

I don't understand UY. If I usually go to Disney in July or August - should I purchase an August UY. I think my guide said something about points being added in Feb. Does that mean I would have a Feb UY. Would it matter if I usually go in July or Aug?

Full explanation on this thread will help you. Others did a great job explaining it to me: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2253774

feb is a fine UY if you normally go in july and august. definitely don't get an august UY.

feb is a bad UY if you plan to travel on a regular basis during nov-dec-jan.

Thanks. I teach so we rarely travel in the fall/winter.

UY turned out to be very important when it came to theway points were distributed at the Villas at the Grand Californian. People who bought in or added on at VGC with Feb, Mar, April, May UYs were not allocated 2009 points but those with a June thru December UY were given 2009 points. It makes no sense but it shows that UY can be important in ways that you may have never considered.
