Use year and points banking question

Ok, my current use year is October and did an add through DVC on 2 separate contracts with 100 pts each. I received 100 points for each contract for 2010 which just hit my account this weekend. I then get 100 points for each contract in October 2011.
I know under normal rules the 2010 points must be used prior to the end of my use year or banked by May. But since I just received them shouldn't I be able to bank the 2010 pts or do I loose them because I can't use them in the next 2-weeks?

If you bought them via resale, DVC does not have an obligation to bank those 2010 points for you, since you are past your banking deadline. You could call them to see if they would be kind enough to bank them, but don't be surprised if they say no.

You did the add on through DVC, so just call up member services and ask them to bank them for you. If you have a problem, just call your guide.

As I noted the purchase was "direct" Through Disney, but in my online account is says I have no points to bank.
I am hoping that since I just purchased I am granted the one time right to bank my 2010 points into 2011. Although I understand I must adhere to the May deadline going forward. I just wonder why the online details will not allow me to bank, maybe the system is not smart enough to know I just purchased ?
Anyway getting last years points is one of the few advantages of purchasing direct through Disney along with making it happen overnight, getting my current use year and having the financing taken care of by Disney.

i had the same problem i added on 100 pts to my contract pass my banking window they will make exception and will bank those points you just have to talk to someone at member services they bank my 100pts for me

Beginning 2 years ago or so DVC as a rule began allowing banking of newly purchased points. Just call MS and tell them you just purchased the points and want to bank the 2010.

They will allow you to bank them because you just got them. The reason that it says online that you can't is because you are beyond the banking deadline and someone at MS has to override your account so they can be banked.

Once you call, you should be all set!
