We are planning on Citricos and Candlelight Processional for our trip. We have free dining and too many dining choices. For these two, should I use 2 ts or pay out of pocket? Please advise on whether it makes since to use the two services or if it is a better deal to save them. Some of our dining like Kona cafe for breakfast and Sci Fi, we will pay OOP. I have also considered paying the difference to upgrade to DDP, but I can't decide. We will be gone for six nights so that would be over $700 for the upgrade based on my calculations for a family of four over 10 years old.
Here are our dining choices:
Arrival night: either Sanna, Shutters or QS
2nd night: CP Le Cellier
3rd: Kona breakfast and Citricos for dinner
4th: Sci Fi for lunch and Cape May for dinner
5th: Tusker House for breakfast and Boma for dinner
6th: Via Napoli
7th: 1900 Park Fare for Breakfast

Thanks for the help.

The Candlelight Processional at Le Cellier costs $62. If everyone got the most expensive items (appetizer, entree, dessert, drink), each would total $59. But would you all want Duck Three-Ways at $13 or would you prefer the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup at $7?

Currently you have 10 or 11 TS meals requiring 11 or 12 meal credits (depending on what you do the first day) and you only have 6. In general the value of a TS credit is often cited as $30. Using this figure and multiplying it out, you need a minimum of 5*$30 or 6*$30 or $150 to $180 person to pay for the extra meals times 4 = $600 to $720. Now granted your 3 breakfasts cost at most $60/person or $240 total, but this only reduces the difference to $480 and $600. Once again, you can get out of Sci Fi for $13/ person get the burger and water but I would not want to.

You need to look at the menus and see how much you might be spending at each meal. But I would strongly consider the upgrade to the Deluxe plan, you get an extra snack/day, the cups (a questionable value) and an added appetizer. Adding one TS meal would probably put you over the top.

A side note, I don't know your Disney Adult Kids but I know how mine used to be. If at Restaurant A (dining plan), they could order any thing off the menu, they would get what they wanted. At Restaurant B I want to pay OOP, I could guarantee that at least one of the boys would want to try the most expensive thing on the menu! When the Triple Whopper first came out my 10 year old demanded one, he got it and it was his dinner for 4 straight days!

Best Wishes and have a Great trip!
