I don't think it was just that. Employment/enforcement of the "wristband" policy overall is as lot lighter than the mythical levels many here imply. I was at the Yacht Club over a major, busy holiday period (Memorial Day weekend) last year. During our whole stay the pool CMs in general were neither handing out nor looking for wristbands. Personally, I believe that had to do with staff cutbacks (there were more often than not no CMs at the entry gates, so anyone could walk in - and did).
And if people think that was just a "unusual quirk," then they are welcome to explain to me how several people in my party (which was staying at the Boardwalk) was able to readily walk over and into (and use) SAB several times during our President's Day week stay last February.

That is to say the least NOT an off-season period.
