Use of other Disney hotel facilities????

Hi, I am about to book for us to stay at POR for 14 nights in May and I was just wondering, are you allowed, during your stay, to use the pool facilities of the other Disney hotels. Only asking as I thought I might take the kids the CBR beach (if its any good) one afternoon while we are there so they can play in some sand. Thanks

You can go and enjoy the other pools, except for the one at the AKL. I believe that is the only one you can not pool hop too. Also provided it is not holiday weeks and the resorts are at capacity might affect which ones you can go to. When we were staying at the AKL we went to the Grand Floridian and there was a sign by the pool saying you must be a Resort Guest to use, I don't know if it was just a GF guest or a guest of Walt Disney World, but we used anyway and there was no one else there. My son even participated in activities with the lifeguard while visiting.

Pool hopping between resorts is not allowed.... at the Beach club they will check your room key to make sure you are a guest of that resort before letting you into the pool area.... I think they used to issue sometype of braclet but not sure if they still do that or not... but you are only supposed to use your own resort pool..... there is some part of the DVC ownership that allows them to use other pools... not sure of the details of that though.

Since your staying at POR the only other Resort pool you can use is at POFQ, because those are sister Resorts. However after that you can not pool hopp to any other Resorts.

There are so many flame-inducing threads on this. I feel badly because you seem to be honestly asking - not knowing about it. **for laughs, though, try a search on "pool-hopping" or "refillable mugs".**..both topics cause some people on these boards to go ballistic. There are so many other things in life to get anxious about!

Anyway - here is the rule. No pool-hopping. If you are staying at POR Riverside, you can however, use the pool at the French Quarter without consequence because it all falls under the "Port Orleans Resort". I know this for a fact because we have been specifically told so during more than one visit to the French Quarter.

We would like to drive over to the Contemporary to eat rather than take the bus from POFQ. Can we then take the monarail over to MK for a few hours or are we supposed to drive back to our own resort and take the bus to the MK.

You'll get a parking pass good for 3 hours at the Contemporary. If you're going to go to the park after dining, you'll have to park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, or go back to your resort and take the bus. You're staying on site so you won't have to pay for parking.

You are allowed to park just for a few hours while dining.... I don't think they allow you to park, eat and then tour the parks. We have driven to other hotels for dinner ... like the AKL and never had a problem... but we were only there for dinner.

Sorry, resort parking is for the guests at that resort OR guests who are dining or visiting the resort. Every resort parking lot that is close to a themepark has a sign at the entrance that states they are sorry but they cannot provide themepark parking. Once your dining ends, you are expected to move your car. This includes valet parking.

From POFQ, take the bus to the MK then either walk or take the resort monorail over to the Contemporary. Or you could drive and park your car for free at the MK parking lot (since you are a WDW resort guest) and then hop the monorail over to the Contemporary.

There is no pool hopping but if you are wanting to take them to play in the sand, that is away from the pool area at CBR - lots & lots of sand to play in. I don't think there is anything against that at Disney. Does anyone else know?
