Use of Member Perks?

I will be at WDW from May 8th to the 14th for company training. Most of my meals will be provided by my company, however there are a few days when I will be on my own.

I have received my temporary ID from DVC; can I use this when I am at the World? Are you allowed to use the perks even if you are not staying in a DVC resort?

We used our temp DVC Members cards to get the perks at the Dolphin when we stayed there in Oct. Also, they gave us the discount for the Steam Train Tour when we were at the Dolphin as well.

However, to get the preferred seating at the Flower Power Concert, we had to show the room keys (both) and the members card to get the bracelets.

Some perks, like pool hopping & UHP discounts, are tied to staying on-site at a DVC resort. Most, however, are simply tied to your DVC membership and has nothing to with a resort stay. So, depending on the perk, you should be able to use your card for most perks, like Dining Discounts and Free Valet parking at DVC resorts that offer it.
