Use of Disney Dollars on Cruise

We will provide a charge card for on board charging privileges; however, we will also have a decent supply of Disney Dollars that our kids have earned before sailing etc. Do we have the ability to apply Disney Dollars towards our charge card balance before leaving the ship?
I imagine this has been brought up before, sorry!

Don't be sorry...this comes up on a regular basis. Your Disney Dollars can be taken to guest services and applied to your balance at any time during the trip. Avoid the crowds...don't do it on the last day!

They cannot be used around the ship...they are only good at guest services.

Yes, that is what we did on our cruise this past August. We just went to Guest Services and they credited our DD to our account.

Great, I am pleased to learn we wont be forced to spend all of the Disney Dollars at WDW after the cruise!

I was wondering if anyone was going to call me on the DD. Right now, I think my "DD 13" credit rating has slipped a bit, maybe from several billion to several million, LOL!!! Oh what joy to have a teenager in the house.

No way!! I would have said priceless, except I'm not sure that even the wonderful Guest Services folks would have been able to figure out how to credit that.

In our case, we treat the kids to a trip to the local Disney Store to trade in cash for Disney dollars for various chores and for just being nice to each other enough! They enjoy saving the cool Disney Dollars for our trips…helps pass the time I guess.

I bought many Disney Dollars with gift cards and Dream Rewards cards. I think between the two of us we will have about $450. It's harder to spend Disney Dollars than cash. Cash never lasts long in our house, plastic melts, but using Disney Dollars does require slightly more effort, like a trip to the Disney Store or Disney World .
