Use of a PIN code for an existing reservation

Last May, I booked a room-only reservation in the Beach Club for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon coming up in November.

In July, I booked a 5 night all inclusive package (Dining, Park Tickets, Race Fee, etc.) at the POP for Marathon weekend directly from the sports travel desk at runDisney which I have fully paid for.

On October 10th I got an e-mail with a pin code from Disney stating that they would like me to come back. The dates on the offer appear to qualify for a discount for my existing reservation over marathon weekend.

This may seem like silly question, but can I apply this discount PIN code to my existing marathon weekend reservation and receive a refund?

You can apply the PIN to your existing reservation IF the resort/room type you have booked is available under the PIN and if you don't already have a discount for that reservation, with the discount applying to the room portion only.

As I understand it, you can apply the pin only if there is a room available for your dates using that pin code. They essentially replace your current reservation with the new pin code reservation.

I don't have any other discounts on the reservation unless the runDisney people applied one. Don't know.

My dates are set in stone as I have plane tickets already. Perhaps I should call Disney and see if I can apply the code. But before I do that, I should talk to my wife to see if she wants to use the discount code to move up from a value resort to a moderate or deluxe property, or take the money and run.
