Use Magic Band that hasn't been used to enter the park?

Does a Magic Band have to be used to enter the park before you can use the FPs associated with it? For example, if my mom stays in the hotel room for the afternoon, could I take her Magic Band into the park with me and use her FPs?

I know that in Disneyland and under FP-, you could only pull a FP with a ticket if that ticket had been used to enter the park that day. So I'm wondering if there is a similar rule here.

Yes, the magic band with the associated fastpasses has to be admitted to the park. I tried this one time. My wife was back by the pool so I took her band and tried to ride TSM back to back, when I scanned her band it said she was not in the park.

I'm sorry but according to everyone else's experience, that just isn't true. You can even take MB with no ticket associated and use them for same day FP so unless something changes very recently, the MB does not need to be used for entry.

It doesn't work with just extra MB that are associated with the MDE account you are using. It works with MB that are associated with a different account. Ex: your mom went on a trip and has a MB but isn't on your current trip. You can schedule your 3 FP ahead and then use her MB to get 3 more same day FP at a kiosk. This is a hot button topic and some find it unethical. I'm simply stating its possible.

You can use someone else's MB to access FPs they reserved even if they didn't come to WDW with you. The MB does not have to be scanned into the park. I did this with my DHs MB. He has an annual pass but didn't go to the park so I used my FPs and his FPs on that trip. That was early November. This can, of course, change at any time and Diser's who are in the know have said that it is in fact on the list of things that Disney eventually wants to take care of.

Yes, you can use the band even if it's owner hasnt entered the park. We were there last month, and had a day where two of our party stayed at the hotel. We took their bands and were able to use them for the 3 FP's that had been reserved. No problem.

Not if you don't scan it to get in the park.

I did this on my solo trip over Easter. We have APs and I was able to book 3 rides on my name and 3 on his. With some skillful timing, I was able to do ALL of the headliners with very minimal waits.

Does anyone know if this is still accurate? We are AP's and my boyfriend can't meet me until later tomorrow. However I would love to use both of our fast passes to go meet characters (which he hates doing) before he gets there.

DH and I used FP made using DD and DGD APs on our trip last week
They were 800 miles away
No problems at all
