Hi,

We are getting a throwaway room in order to book Fastpass+ times. We will be getting the magic bands in the mail sometime soon. Our throwaway room will be at the beginning of the trip.

Having the magic band seems convenient to pay for meals, souvenirs, etc? Will it still work for the rest of our week after we have already checked out of the "throwaway" room?

You can no longer use your magic band to charge to your room once your onsite stay is over.

What about using the magic bands for admission to the parks and for Fastpass+? Will that still work after the onsite reservation is over?

Yes. And the band can be re-used on future trips for room entry and everything else. The charging privilege expires when your lodging checks out. It's a function of the lodging, not the band.

If you have an annual pass, you could use the band every day for a year. And again if you got a new pass next year.

I don't think you will have access to Fast Pass Plus after your check out date. I know that when we booked ours with a AP that the day after we checked was marked as "unavailable for FP+ selections". There initially was a loophole that allowed you to book 60 days out, but they closed that recently. You can however use it for the rest of your trip to get into the parks.

This is not correct, as least as far as the AP is concerned.

Sorry Wendy this is wrong.

AP holders can book up to seven days worth of FP+ outside of stays at Disney hotels. You may have had issues if your actual stay dates used that many, but you can book a new day's worth every time a day is used and the calendar rolls over.

I don't doubt at all that you had this error message come up- Disney is using "testing" as an excuse that their billion dollar system still doesn't work seamlessly after over a year "in testing". But it should have worked for you.

What about for regular admission (not AP holders here)? Any chance we'd still be able to use the app to book/update FPP, or are we doomed to the kiosks for our final two days?

This was posted today by someone without an AP that has a throwaway room booked. They are able to book FP+s beyond their stay. They just have to book each day at the 60 day mark instead of all at once.

Checking back in, I too am now able to book more FP+ days up to 5/1. Our last day is 5/2 so hopefully that opens tomorrow.

We had booked 9 days, so I guess that is why it popped up and said that. If we go in June and decide to stay offsite we would be able to book our FP+? As an AP I think we should have access on or off site, but then again Disney didn't ask me :-)

Yes you will. :) have a great trip...

Assuming your AP is active now and linked to your MDE, you can prove this to yourself right now.

You can go on the MDE site and see that you can book FP+ for tomorrow. As can I.

I won't, because I'm in a snowstorm where I reside in Ohio, though. Sigh.

If you log on right now you should be able to book FPs up to 60 days out. Is that not the case for you?
