Use for Existing Cruise Reservations

O.K. Here's the question: If you have an existing Cruise reservation for next spring, and buy into DVC now, can you use the points and transfer the reservation?

O.K. Here's the hard part (I think): Assuming the answer to the above question is "Yes," If the DCL reservation is Cat. 3, can you us the points for a Cat 4 (The highest level you apparently can book with DVC points) and then add cash to upgrade back to Cat 3.

Sorry, the answer is no. You cannot use points nor a combination of cash and points to reserve cat 3. Category 4 is the highest level a DVC member can use points on. As far as purchasing DVC and transferring the ressie..you would actually cancel the DCL ressie and book again thru Member Services. They require a fee of $75 to transfer your points.
