Use FastPass after the time has passed?

Sad, people always find a way around every rule.

If it was a RULE, nobody COULD "get around it" just by showing up.
They would be refused entry.

Hey Robo ---

I think in a similar thread a couple months ago you said you were going to try some old FPs for fun -- did you and did it work?

You remember correctly (WOW!).

I took 'em with me and never tried them because there was never a need to use FP's on the rides I had them for.
(Sometimes the FP machines were not even open on those rides.)

But I still have them (and a bunch MORE from other attractions) "aging nicely" in a plastic bag.

My next trip, I THINK, will be this December.
I'll take 'em again and see if a months-old (or years-old) FP is a problem.

:firefight

(Just for SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH purposes, of course!!) :goodvibes

Yeah -- I have a bunch left over from May.....I might try them next May just to see, but then I will ABSOLUTELY GET OUT OF LINE FOR THAT WOULD BE WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!

I am no rule-breaker, no-sirree-bob...now excuse me while I run over to the Grand Floridian pool.....

(and you now have over 3k posts -- congrats)

Thanks.

SOME would look at that number and tell me, "You need to get out more."

:)

We were told on our first trip in 2002 as long as we came back after our window started that we would be able to use them. We have been doing it since then. As a matter of fact, I just did that at Disneyland again today. I have had come CMs joke about me being a bit late, but never a problem getting on!

I knew we couldn't get through this thread without one flame!! Oh well, most people let the OP know what is the Practice/policy/"scam" that is being done. Don't think twice about using the fastpass when you can... Although I probably wouldn't use one from a previous day! That may be pushing it! :goodvibes

You called that a flame?? Its not, its a fact. The simple fact of TRYING to see IF you can get away with it is pretty cut and dry that it is not the intended use or method.

Again, if it was against the policy, it would not be possible to do it.

A person can TRY to use a FP early, but they won't allow it.

A person can TRY to use a non-hopper ticket to park-hop, but it WON'T WORK.

I do not understand how this can be considered "scamming" or even "cheating" especially when the CMs at the attractions tell you it is their policy to let riders who have such FPs use them. Like another said if it was wrong it would not be allowed

We have used the FP after the alloted time several times! No problems!

The only ones that I would be a little leery about trying it would be brand new/extremely popular rides- just cause I would be so devestated if they turned me away! :rotfl:

I have often used past the time window, though as said, I suppose, for some reason, the CM could hold the window as the rule. Never heard of that though.

Good to meet you, now you have heard of it. I have posted my experience in the past so forgive the repeat but I have been able to use an expired FP a few times and been denied twice.

First denial was at MGM when due to really poor service at Sci Fi my dd's and I missed our window at Star Tours. Me and my then 7 and 9 yo dd's, no intention of "scamming the system" for sure!! We were only about 1/2 hour late and that was the first time we even tried. Not only did the CM not allow us to use the FP but she took them from us so we couldn't "try again".

The other time was recently at Soarin, about an hour late. Honestly we don't count on using late fast pases as a strategy due to our past expereince but again we had an issue that prevented us from returing during the window and decided to give it a try.

I have also been behind a very uspet family at test track who were not allowed to use an expired fast pass.

So when these threads pop up I try and share my viewpoint based on my exeriences. If you miss your window it dosen't hurt to try, if you really want to ride its best to just return during the window or take your chances.

but we did miss a few this trip due to ADRs and going to see the Pirates Movie (didn't realize is was so long). No hassles at all, i saw alot of others using them as well after the time.

Disney tries to keep everyone happy.

Do your best to hit the time, but do not sweat it too much if you do not make it.

It depends on where you are. Most rides will take them late, especially if they're continuously loading.

I work over at Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and since we're a limited seating theater with specific show times, we can't take them late. If we let in all the late FPs, the standby line would be like 3 hours.. We try to tell guests that their FP is like a movie ticket.. for that time and that time only.

And to the person who got yelled at by a HISTA CM, I'm sorry for whoever it was! Things get a little crazy up at that photocell when there's one person trying to load the standby line, the wheelchairs coming in, and 400 FPs in the span of 9 minutes. We don't mean to snap.

During our visit towards the end of June, we waited in the standby line at Rock-n-Roller Coaster late in the day (maybe 1.5 hours before park closing). During the 1st fifteen minutes of this wait, the FP return line never seemed to get any shorter; seemed to always fill to around 60 people or more and never got down to zero. I suspect that many of these people were using expired FP's; there were no major shows ending around this time. This made the standby line move super-slow since the CM's had to constantly let in FP riders...

never EVER had a problem & we've been to the parks about 30 days/year for the past 6 years. Often use expired ones. We try to be on time, but sometimes life gets in the way.
