Use DOLLAR rental car lately??

I've been reading the threads about the extreme shortage of rental cars out of MCO. With us leaving in a couple of days, I am wondering if there is anyone who has used Dollar within the past week, and if they have encountered any problems in getting a car. Were there cars available? Was there a long wait for a car? I have used Dollar in the past, along with National, and have never had a problem with either. I am only interested in current rental problems. We have a full size and a minivan reserved for this week.

We just returned from 15 days at WDW during which we had two separate rentals with Dollar...a mini van for 5 days and an intermediate for the balance.

There was absolutely no shortage of vehicles when I rented. There were minimal lines also. I'm a Fastlane member, but the regular line was very short.

Was your minivan a grand or regular. When I made reservations for my minivan they told me that they cannot guarantee a grand and that we would have to request that when we got there and it would be considered an upgrade (more money). I also have one reserved through budget and although they said they cannot guarantee a grand either they did put a request on our reservation for it and it does not cost any more. Thanks for your help.

We went Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 and rented a minivan from Dollar. My husband was the only one in the Fastlane and he got back with the paperwork before our luggage even showed up on the conveyer belt. He was asked if he wanted to upgrade for about $7.00 extra per day to a Grand Caravan. He said no. When we got out to the garage we were handed the keys to a Grand Caravan and when we looked at our paperwork in the car the original salesman had noted a grand caravan. We were not charged for the upgrade. Return also went very quickly. We arrived the day before Hurricane Jeanne and there were plenty of vehicles on all the aisles.
