Use both FP and DAS, correct?

Hi, I have only read a few posts on this particular forum, but just a quick question. My sil is expecting to get a DAS for my nephew (her 3-year-old son). She wasn't planning to make Fastpasses, thinking that the DAS would suffice. My recommendation is to make the Fastpass reservations as well. Am I correct? Can/should both be used? My understanding of the DAS is that there can still be some waiting, just not in the actual lines, so the Fastpasses would be beneficial.

:welcome: to the disABILITIES Forum!

Yes, it is strongly recommended to utilize FP+ along with DAS. Relying solely on the DAS could end up with long waits until the DAS return time rolls around as you may only have 1 active return time at any given point.

The first post of this thread explains all about the DAS. No need to read the subsequently pages of posts as that is simply discussion. http://www.disboards.com/threads/wd...15-digital-das-on-tickets-magicbands.3178976/

I hope your sister and nephew enjoy their vacation!

Thank you for responding! I did read that first post but there's a lot of information, so thanks for answering :)

Glad to help... feel free to ask any other questions that pop up as well :)

Definitely get her to lock in those FP+. The DAS is like one FP+ at a time, so you'd be waiting out of the queue, but for the length of the standby line minus 10 minutes or so.

Your day without FP+ would look like:

Get a DAS
Wait for DAS time (going on an attraction with a short enough queue to be tolerated if there is one)
Go on attraction
Get another DAS
Wait
Go on
Repeat

yes get FP too I know with my disability sometimes I can not do any rides or any thing at all and I am done with the park it is nice to have 3 FP booked for midmorning and have the DAS too this way if I get to the point I have to leave and come back

My strategy is to get FP's for rides that our little DAS holder won't be going on and try for DAS return times for rides he will. Have a MDE itinerary with FP's and notes about DAS sprinkled all over it. So also expect to be using rider switch combined with FP sometimes.
