Use before upgrading?

We took advantage of the great deal for the 7-day park hoppers from Parksavers.
We want to upgrade to Waterparks and more when we get there. (planning on AK the morning of June 3)
Should we use them first at AK, or stop at Guest Relations before our Magic Bands are scanned the first time? Will it make a difference in the price we pay for the upgrade?

I would play it safe and use the ticket first.

Even though there is one ticketing CM (long after Cheshire Figment's time) who, here on The DIS, says that usage does not matter. Specifically, he said that bridging (revaluing the ticket to today's ticket booth price) does not depend upon usage history. Still, bridging is a manual step and, given anecdotal evidence on The DIS, has been denied unfairly in some cases and granted unnecessarily in other cases.

The cost to add water park fun to a 7 day ticket with hopping is about $26.

If you want to, you can try to do the upgrade first thing and, if you get an unexpectedly higher price quote, say you "want to think about it" and then "go get a second opinion" i.e. enter a park first.

Agreed.

Thanks so much for the advice.

It sounds like there is no risk in using it first, and my crew will be in a hurry to get to the park anyway, after spending all night driving.

I'm a she, and I was here during Cheshire Figment's time, I was just a lurker back then. Information I learned from the old ticket sticky helped me get my job. :)

In your opinion, should I be able to upgrade for $26 per ticket?

Yep, the above posters are great sources of information.

Upgrading to a 7D PH to a 7D PH with WPF&M should cost $27.69 including tax ($26 is before tax) per ticket.

Whether you've used the ticket first or not, if a CM gives you a different price, go to someone else.
