Have a AP for myself and two days left of hoppers for husband. Booked AKL Standard Savanah for $2518 with dining and one day base pass for two adults and two kids for six nights Nov. 8-14. My question is should I book with the AP for the room rate and pay to eat as we go. We love the buffets for dinner and breakfast. Which is a better deal? Too many deals going on right now! Thanks

When we called Disney and were checking this very same thing the CM said hands down the AP was the best deal. Why don't you get the Disney Dining Experience card and save 20% on meals and go with the AP?

If your buying a one-day ticket ($71) for all 4 of you to receive the package it would wipe out most of the discount you are receiving on the room. DDE is fantastic. You may be better off.

I don't see how AP is a better deal. Can you guys help me with this. Maybe the missing element for me is dining. I've never booked a DDP or used DDE. We let out AP's lapse and are trying to decide whether to renew or not. They have gone up A LOT. $462 + tax of course. We don't get Premium AP's.

Okay - I got a quote for 10/28 - 11/4, 7 nights at the Poly Garden View. I can get the room and 7 day base tickets for me and hubby for $2,637.00.

If I were to buy AP's the scenario would go like this:

Room (289 x 7 + 11% tax) = $2,245.53
Tickets (2 AP's) = 924.00 (that's without tax)

TOTAL = $3,169.53

I just don't get how the AP deal is better.

can you guys enlighten me?

We'll in your situation Pam, you go to Disney more than once a year right?

The AP would be the better deal if you are planning on going a few times within the next year.

Well, in the past I would say DEFINITELY...we have been going on average 2 times a year. BUT, it's getting so expensive, I truly believe we'll have to cut it to once a year.

I see what you guys are saying. The AP is a better deal IF you go multiple times a year. And, only IF. That makes sense.

The $462 includes tax & you would have park hopping. You could plan the next trip a week before this one next year or pay again for a 7 day base which would end up costing $450 probably a little more if you add in price increases & no hopping.

The ticket options & dining plan, I feel, are unique to each family's situation. There isn't an easy answer to what is best for everyone.
