USAirways Visa Companion Ticket

According to the website for my USAirways Visa I am allowed to get on companion ticket per year at $99. Does anyone know how I go about getting this?

I recently got the USAirways MasterCard. With my "welcome kit" there was a certificate for a $99 companion ticket. There is a certificate # and a code to use when calling. There is alot of fine print. The main one is "seats are limited and may not be available on all flights". That is code for "good luck using it".

There have also been reports that once you use it to make your reservation you have to send in the certificate.

I suggest visiting www.flyertalk.com go to miles and points, then the airline forums, finally to US Airways.

Well it looks like their not really giving you anything. The certificate are not available when I wanted so I booked with AirTran. USAir is way too expensive.

I can't figure out why they are calling themselves a "low cost airline" after they merged with America West. Prices are nowhere near the other "low cost" airlines like SW and Air Tran. My flight to Orlando next Thursday is $294, I only booked it because I had to use a cancelled ticket. My friend is flying SW for $97 (ding).

Debbie: I agree with you. I just paid $99 each way on AirTran. I probably could have held out and hoped for a lower fare but I was scared that prices are going to skyrocket.
