Does anyone have any experience with USAirways?

We are trying to change our tickets (as per their website). We just are not going to risk going to Florida this weekend.

Anyway...last night I was on hold for 4 1/2 hours before I hung up. (it was after midnight!) I know they are very busy, but that is a long time! I got up early again this am and have been on hold for over 2 hours!

Can I drive to my airport and make these changes? Although it takes me an hour to get to Ohare, I am willing to do it!!

Just don't know what to think anymore... we want to change to next weekend, but now I am afraid all flights will be booked for that time!

ANYONE??

Yesterday I waited on hold twice for over an hour. Then I called back and instead of choosing the option for changing your ticket, I choose the option for a new reservation. I only waited on hold for 5 minutes. I explained to the agent that I had waited for the other option and never got through. He was able to help me. Try to do that.

And yes, you can change your ticket at the airport. That used to be easy for us as Dulles is close. But United has reconfigured their counters, and there are very few agent manned stations now, many have been converted to self-check-in. (Suspect USAir is similar) So if you do go to O'hare, try to go at a non peak flight time so you don't have a long wait at the airport.....

I just changed my PHL to TPA flight from tomorrow to Tuesday morning. I was on hold 40 minutes. The woman who handled my call was very accomodating.

The only problem is that I could not get seats together for my family, because they were all singles. We will need to show up early and hope that things can be arranged so my husband and I can sit with our kids (who are 1 and 3). I'm hoping that people will be generous and be willing to move for us.

Shouldn't be a problem, worse case you and your husband will each sit next to a child. I'd expect the flight to be a sell out, if you didn't buy a seat for the 1 year old the baby will be on your lap.

Thanks Guys! I made a mad dash this morning for O'hare...

The airport was not very busy at all. Took me about 15 minutes to change to next weekend!

PlutoPony - You are right, there were only two agents behind the desk and they are working at getting everyone to do the self-serve check in. Funny but they had to help many with the process:rolleyes:

Don't know how you guys got through with the phone lines!

But we are set for next weekend.

Hope that Frances is gentle;)

Prayers and Pixie dust to everyone down there!
