I'm looking at opening a checking account with USAA and wondering if anyone knows of a bonus code out there? I'm not in a rush to open the account so if you hear of a code, please let me know!
Thanks!!!

We are USAA members and I have not heard of such a thing. I am not saying they don't exist, I just have not heard of this before. If it exists I hope you find one!

Been with USAA, a long time -- no "codes" that I'm aware of.

However, if you are able to purchase insurance through USAA Property & Casualty, they did (at one time before the financial meltdown) offer a $100 bonus for current members to open a checking account.

That ship has since sailed.

FWIW, given all of the discounted/free services they offer, they really don't have to dangle a "code" to get the business...

USAA members here also-for years and years-no codes-but the savings on insurance, rebates on fees for other banks atm's and the quality of service far outweigh the value of any "bonus" codes.

Also a USAA member. I have never heard of codes with them, because they do not need them to draw in their clients. They are, imho, the best bank around. :goodvibes

EXPIRED!

Here is what it said: USAA is offering $100 Bonus for Free Checking Account opened with Direct Deposit. The account must be opened before May 31, 2009. The free checking account has includes free worldwide ATM usage and free checks. When signing up online, make sure to enter offer code CEO100.

I did not know that USAA has opened banking and CC to all now:confused3. Just insurance and another thing are exclusive to Military only? WOW!

Their banking products have always been open to non-members -- reason being is that the bank is a Federal Savings Bank, not a "members-only" Credit Union. FSBs are required in their charter to make their banking products available to everyone (who meets credit and other financial-related criteria) without discrimination.

Insurance, OTOH, is strictly "members-only" - though the USAA membership pool has increased, over the years to where anyone who ever served in the military (and was honorably-discharged), and their immediate families, can join and get superior customer service/great savings...
