Has anyone flown on USA3000?! Supposedly, they are new planes...and they have a incredible rate of $118/RT from Newark, NJ to Tampa. Has anyone flown into Tampa and driven from the St Pete Airport to Orlando? How long a drive is it to WDW? Any opinion whether it would be worth it to book these flights as opposed to $200/RT with another carrier?!

Don't know about this airline, but I do know we have flown into Tampa twice to save $$ on airfare...and I guess I would do it again, but only if it saved substantial amounts of $$....car rental tends to be higher (don't use Nationals Emerald Aisle...we got the 2 worst rental cars we have ever gotten in 20 years there)... on both occasions we ran into big traffic jams getting out of Tampa and it just made the trip seem extra long...I know others do not share my opinion, but I would try hard to avaoid the Tampa airport if possible.

It eats up a big chunk of your arrival and departure days and while a 90 minute drive didn't sound bad at the time...it turned out to be longer with traffic and the kids just wanted ti BE THERE...it was a hassle.

Our options are fly into Tampa...5 people at $118/ round trip or drive 18 hours from Jersey! I don't know about anyone else but, 1 1/2-2 1/2 hour trip is a whole lot better than 18 hours! If we fly into Orlando...the cheapest airfare is $220 thus far. DH doesn't feel it would be worth it to fly into Orlando $ wise! Car rental will run us $300. If you add up all the expenses it would take to drive...it is cheaper to fly into Tampa! Gas prices are expected to rise increasingly from now to the summer! Plus, we would have to pay for hotel(both ways driving), 4 extra meals, tolls and 2 extra days worth of dog kenneling! We have done it before, but I would much rather FLY!

USA3000 flies Airbus A320 aircraft. A very go airplane to fly from both a pilot and passenger perspective.

It would be similar to that of a Boeing 737. Infact Airbus introduced the A320 to compete against the 737.

Enjoy!

USA 3000 is a charter airline flying scheduled air. I believe they are owned of affiliated with Apple Vacations. They are adding flights and making them available to the public instead of just Apple Vacation customers.

Because they are technically a charter airline their schedule can change. Someone posted on another recent thread that they originally were scheduled for a non stop flight (out of Detroit, I think), and it was later changed to a flight with a stop in Chicago.

I don't know anything specific about the planes, the service, the safety record, etc. I think they only have a limited number of flights and do not fly every day of the week.

but, to save that much money, I might risk it and hope things work out better for you.

she flew Milw to Ft myers

She picked them specifically because they had direct flights. She is elderly and was traveling alone, and she has hip/knee problems so she really wanted that direct flight.

The day she is supposed to leave, she calls and finds out that they had switched her flight to a stop in Chicago. They made no attempt to contact her about the change. They had my email info, so they could have sent out an automated message. I called customer service, and was basically told, 'yeah, I guess we forgot to let you know'. No apology or attempt to compensate. I think she should have had the option of switching to a different flight day so that she could have kept a direct flight, but since she was not notified, she did not know to try. Apparently, when she got to the airport, many of the other passengers were not notified either.

On the return, she was supposed to get to Milw at 930 pm. At around 730, I started checking on line for the flight. Says it is delayed, but no mention of when it would leave. Call their automated system, and was told it would arrive at 2 am. I was the lucky one who was picking her up from the airport. I called at 10 pm our time, and the flight still had not left. I went to the store and called at 11 pm(wanted to make sure it was still coming in at 2 am), and the flight was no longer in their system! I guess since it had been scheduled to land 1.5 hrs before, it dropped off.

I wrote a letter to them, left a message on their phone, explaining all the problems, and never heard back from them.

Maybe this is just because they are new and have not worked out their problems yet. Even with as bad as it was, if I could fly down for $118 pp, I might be willing to give them another try. Just be prepared.

I am also considering this airline because of the fares but I am waiting ofr a fare sale hopefiully for Nov. when are your dates?

We are going in August! Maybe if it were myself and DH, I would risk it...but we are traveling with our 11, 10 & 2 year old and I would hate to have plans change suddenly!:( I think I better pray for a Song sale!
