Us3 back from the Fort! (report w/pics)

I guess I should mention that several kids fishing witnessed this and started feeding too....:rolleyes1 That was one fat and happy heron!

who doesn't love fat and happy? I live by it!

Hey- While I am thinking of it, what did you overhear the Segway tour leader saying about the two cabins on the 100 loop?

I have heard various stories over the years.

Some friends of ours were randomly assigned one of those cabins once, so they do occasionally let non-VIP's stay in them, contrary to what I commonly have heard.

I would be interested to know what was said on the Segway tour.

Didn't offend me either. I just wish WE could eat the fish. That cat sure does look tasty!

Dont quote me on dates and numbers just in case I'm wrong...but here is the story.

He said that the two cabins in the 100 loop were the first two cabins built as a "trial"..and I swear he said in 1971?? He said that they were so popular that they decided to build the cabin loops later. He quoted when they started building the additional cabin loops and the number of cabins now in the resort. He did not mention anything about these being VIP cabins, just that they are very popular and they are the most requested cabins because of their location.

Lot's of interesting information. Others may have already known this, but it was news to me. DH and I are definitely going to do the tour next time! :thumbsup2

Thanks. I was curious what they said on the tour. Most folks say that they are privately owned, or for VIP's only. I don't think that they were the first cabins built, and for sure those particular cabins have not been there since 1971.

Now, back to your great trip report . . . .

Day 6 - MGM (I know, Hollywood Studios)

We met LOTS of Pixar characters this day...my girls LOVE Pixar movies! I was surpised at the emotion from dd3, she would NOT stop hugging the characters and she was almost in tears! It was really cute, and of course brought tears to my and dh's eyes....ah, the Disney magic is so real to a 3 year old!! :goodvibes The characters were so good with her and Woody spent a long time hugging her while the crowds said "aaahhhh". :goodvibes

Our biggest disappointment was that Lightning McQueen was not there. Notice dd2's Lightning McQueen dress... Little girls love the movie Car's too!

Fantastic pics!! Somehow me missed Cars and Monsters Inc. Where were they located in the park?

They were fairly close to each other. They were both near the entrance to the backlot tour. Characters to greet on your next trip! :thumbsup2

Hhhhmmm...I'm not sure about the date...but I know for sure that he quoted that they were the first two cabins built on for a "trial".

Day 8 - Epcot

After a good nights rest...we're off to Epcot...our favorite park! Today was rather depressing knowing that we'd be pulling out at 11am the next morning! :guilty:

We grabbed a FP for Sourin' and then to the Nemo ride. The girls enjoyed this one too. We went to Figment and then Spaceship Earth. I love the updates!! Now the ending to the ride is not so outdated! :thumbsup2

We ended the day back at the Fort of course! The girls love the playground and looping now. We did some more fishing (when I forgot my camera) and DD2 caught another big catfish (no fish story). It was a very sad evening knowing it was our last...so I opened my laptop for the FIRST time on this trip and started checking dates for our next trip!!!:lmao: We watched Wishes through the trees again and enjoyed our last batch of Kungaloosh.

Here are a few pics from Epcot...more pillow case dresses for those of you who like them...

The pic's and trip report are great, getting psyched for our trip this summer.

Those girls are cute, and look like they are having the time of their lives.

Can I ask if DH will give me any pointers on what kind of gun he's considering for when the boys start calling? :rotfl2: I'm still upset about the two little rugrats calling here for my DD9 the other day!

I haven't had a chance to read the whole thread and DH is home needing my attention.

But, this is a great trip report, your girls are adorable as well as your DH and yourself. I appreciate you sharing your trip so much. I can tell from the pictures you had a real "Disney" experience.

Thank you so much for sharing and I am very happy that you had (or are having) such a wonderful trip. I can't wait to finish reading tomorrow at work. :)

Happy Everything!

Thanks to all of you. I'm very proud of those little girls...they are all really good kids. That's what life is all about huh? Dh and I both really enjoy Disney too, and it was such a "magical" trip. FW was truly an awesome escape from the over crowded parks!!! We took our time to enjoy it this time and it was awesome! :thumbsup2

I'll post some more random pics of Fort Wilderness when I get them uploaded. I can't wait to go back!!! :goodvibes
