Just tried to book flights via United's US website but it wouldn't let me. Has anyone had any joy with American websites? I would be saving £275ish.

Did it say why it declined your attempt? I booked through Continental (now United) in 2010 and went through the US website as it was cheaper in $. Which airline are you looking at?

Looks like it was my credit card being careful. Had to ring the US website and when the price was converted into pounds I paid £2000 for 4 adults (LHR to JFK and MCO to LHR). So pleased! Same flights were coming out at just over £2600 from this end. 18 Aug to 31 Aug

Well done! I like the fact that the US airlines don't charge you a credit card fee like the European/UK ones do. I think I paid over £20 in card fees to BA last year for 2 of us!
