US shoe sizes

Please help!

DH wants a pair of trainers for Xmas but I can only get them from the US so will have to get them shipped. He's a UK size 11 - what is the US equivalent?

12 I think - I have a couple of pair of Oakley's that are UK 9.5 and these are shown as US 10.5

Take care - I found recently that I needed two different sizes (in US terms) in trainers ("sneakers") dependant on the make.

However, in Euro sizing they were labelled the same....size 44 (c.9-9.5 UK, 10-10.5 "ish" US).

My tip is to try referring to them in Euro/Continental size as all the boxes and shoe labels have this size on anyway.
