US shipping address

Have any of you ever signed up with one of the online companies to get a US shipping address so you can ship goods from any retailer in the US?

I would love some recommendations of good companies.

Hop Shop Go is a new and reasonable one offered by the same company as Paypal/Ebay. www.HopShopGo.com - I haven't used them as yet but am part of a board that has used them without problems. Plan to use them VERY soon with this $$.

Shaz, thanks so much for that. I was looking at Bongo today and they seemed good but I always prefer to hear from someone who is using a company. That is great news.

So can someone talk me through the process. Do you sign up with these companies for a fee? Or is the fee built into the freight?

How does it work and how long does it take?

I know with Bongo there is a monthly fee for opening up an account i think it may be $15 i could be wrong i will be charge every month if you find that you aren't using it or wont be using it for a couple of months you have to option of closing it down and when you want to re open it you just let know.

I have signed up with MyUS.com
I have ordered some items and they have been received, but I'm waiting for a couple more orders to arrive before I get a parcel sent to me. A colleague at work uses them regularly and has no trouble. You pay a yearly fee for an address and then pay for the postage. Postage cost depends on your "membership" level.
It really allows you to take advantage of the $, and get more variety of goods!!

Hop Shop Go is Free when you sign up and it only costs to post the items back. I have used them 20 times now and never had a problem with them!

I love it and wouldnt use anyone else.

Edit: I got my items about 2 days after they received them at the warehouse and I told them here I wanted them to go.
They also pack them into one box if you want to save on shipping.

After thinking carefully about using Hop Shop Go and discussing them with others, I decided to give them ago. I had also been offered the first kilogram of shipping free.

I purchased some items from the DisneyStore and they wanted $75USD to ship to Australia and the parcel weighed 4kg.

I decided to use Hop Shop Go. Their weight calculation was 16kg (they use the volumetric weight), and they wanted $170USD!!!!

With my first kilogram free it came down to $125USD!!!

Let's say that I will not be using them again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

I had a similar experience - Disney store package weighed 1.5 kilos, HopShopGo said 3kilos, so after first kilo free I pad an additional $27.

I know this is still cheaper than the Disney postage, but I was not impressed. The Disney store took forever to deliver as well. Items ordered on the 25th November were not received at HopShopGo until 19 December.

We were realy disappointed with Hop shop Go!! actually worked out expensive and we asked that all packages be combined. Had a major panic a couple of days ago when we realised that the packages had all come seperately, what the??????? and even though we could see on the tracking that they were in Brisbane, had to wait for courier to deliver them on seperate days as they had arrived individually. They were xmas presents and I th0ught they werent going to get here in time. They did with 2 days to spare, phew!!!!

the benefit of using them is being able to buy from places that won't ship to Australia, so I would use them again.

I have been using www.usglobalmail.com for years. Love m. Very good and reliable.
Before that, i used myus.com, but they didn't have the option to ship via usps.

I know this is a older post but I used detroitmailbox.com for a few parcels that I bought on ebay. I live in Canada, Windsor and had my parcels sent to this company. It is your own US address. Kinda cool, I sent them an email to let them know the parcels were being shipped and then they emailed me the day they arrived. I went over after work and picked it up (later hours) and even paid visa. Second time over there I paid for 2 parcels directly on the site via paypal which was kinda convenient. Hope this helps for those in the area.

i used hop shop go with no problems, particularly if they give out free first kg. the combine and give you options of repackaging. Most of the other places do charge monthly fees. I find hopshopgo's website set up pretty easy to use.
