Hi all. My first posting to DISboards.

Looking for a bit of advice/. Planning a trip to Southern CA and Nevada in May / June 2005. Can anyone advise me the date of the start of the US school hols in June so I can do DL and Seaworld etc before school's out??

Thanks

Darryl

Well every school district is different but school basically ends from mid april on for college kids and end of may- through end of june for high school on down.

The main kicker for attendance will be the weekend of Memorial day which usually is the last monday in May- the crowds begin to build but still June is better than July0

Our district is out May 28 this year - I would assume it would be similar for 2005. Of course every district has it's own calendar and lots of schools are year round or modified year round - so their breaks could be anytime and are staggered at that.
Good luck planning!

In general--very generally--So Cal schools are not out before the end of the first week of June. Many, many schools around the country are out by that time and thus beginning vacations, but going before then at least helps reduce the number of more local folks.

I would plan a trip as early in June as possible. The crowds get heavier each week with July/August almost unbearable. Good Luck!!!

Calypso-a-go-go is right. The earlier in June, the better. We live 30 mins. away and my dd is in school through the second week of June. I just checked the website of the Los Angeles Unified School District, which is a HUGE district, and their last day of school in 2005 is June 24.

Keep in mind, DL attendance is mostly locals. When the local schools are out for the summer is when you'll see a large jump in attendance. That's why the Southern California Annual passes blackout the second or third week of June until the last week of August. It's tied to the local school calendars.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Looks like DL in May before San Diego and across to AZ / NV. Interesting to hear that the locals support it so well.
