That should mean that the lens has a US warranty. Which is what 99 percent of people want and get. It also means the price is a little higher than gray market (not officially imported but not illegal) imports because of the lack of a US warranty.
Yep. They list imports which means no US warranty. Not worth it IMO although I've only had to have a camera repair done like 3 times in 25 years but with the new digitals, you neve know what'll happen.
- my friend the pro says that if a lens is under warrenty then you can get it calibrated if you feel it is out of spec - or if you have a back focus problem for example - at supposedly no cost. The grey market lenses supposedly will not be handled in the USA for no cost - and should be sent off shore for warrenty service. I have never run into anyone who has claimed actual experience with this procedure though. I am uncertain what to believe in the grey market arena.
And on the NR - how about ... No Recourse, or no resort, or how about Needs Repair???
I was reading an article ( don't know how accurate since it was on the internet ) that said grey market stuff/ imported stuff may not be as high a quality as the us warrenty stuff
