I'm in the beginning stages of planning a 10-14 day Florida vacation for June/July 2005. We'll be driving (that will take up 4 days of the trip) and we'd like to spend 3 days at each of the following places US/IOA, Vero Beach and WDW.

We've already done the Illuminations cruise at Epcot. We want to end up in the park with the best fireworks on the 4th of July (WDW or US/IOA). Anybody that has been to both, which are better? TIA!

I saw US/IOA's just this past summer and they were BEYOND awesome!!! They had the same show at 3 different places (US/IOA/Citywalk) and it was beautiful. Everywhere you turned you could see the fireworks. The only problem was we waited about 2 hours to get out of the parking garage  Other than that, the fireworks were GORGEOUS. I'm hoping to go again this year.

Thanks, it sounds fantastic! We'd be staying on site, so we'd just have to make it back to our hotel.

We've stayed at the HRH during two July 4 holidays. The fireworkds are spectacular. As stated they were set off simultaneously three at US, IOA, and City Walk. AWESOME!! If you're staying on site it's no contest. Why fight the WDW crowds when you can enjoy your FOTL at US/IOA during the busy holiday!

We love US/IOA/City Walk for 4th July. We pay the extra small fee to be in the preferred viewing area at City Walk and enjoy the fireworks from there.

We've purchased the tickets for the preferred viewing area at CityWalk in years past also and really enjoyed it. They have a band and a real party atmosphere. My kids enjoyed it because they throw Mardi Gras beads from the stage. As for the fireworks, they were the most phenominal I have ever seen! Three different sets going on at once.

Regarding the exodus from the parking garage: We just hung out at City Walk for about an hour after the fireworks listening to the music and checking out the shops and by the time we went to the garage, things were moving pretty well.

We could see the fireworks from our room at the RPR this past summer and it was outstanding! We had so much fun!
