14yo son and I are planning to hit both parks in one day. Specifically trying to hit major attractions and not worried about missing some of the smaller things on this trip. We will determine if Express pass is needed once we're there. Our scheduled day is this Saturday, 30 May.

Is this possible??? Any suggestions are welcome.

Islands of Adventure: Be there 30 minutes before opening
Incredible Hulk Coaster
The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman
Go to Universal Studios
The Simpsons
Men in Black: Alien Attack
Revenge of the Mummy
Shrek 4-D
Jaws
Disaster
Twister....Ride it Out
Terminator 2:3-D (may skip, seen it multiple times)
Return to Islands of Adventure
The Dueling Dragons
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls
Popye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges
Jurassic Park River Adventure

Thanks
Eric

I would skip Terminator, Twister, and Disater. The only one I would consider if you have more time would add back Disater. Other than that your plan looks ok to me.:thumbsup2

It can be done. The single rider line at Men in Black will turn it into practically a walk-on, so use it (as long as your 14-year-old is comfortable with that). The Mummy Returns single rider line is rarely that generous, but it's also an option.

Why leave IOA to come back, though, unless you don't want to hit the water rides too early in the day? You can knock off all of those rides in less than two hours if you're there when it opens and are therefore one step ahead of the crowd.

Whether it's 10am or 11am when you get to USF, there will already be lines at most of the rides there anyway.

I'd skip Twister and you may have to skip Shrek as it is usually busy from 11:00 AM until an hour before park closes. Since you'll be at IoA at closing time, you may need to skip Shrek. Just check the line wait time when you finally get over to Shrek. I hate to see you miss the Horror Make-up show. Get a park map for the times and see if you are near the show during in of the times.

If you do decide to get express. Only get it for one park like Universal Studios. Then spend the majority of the day at IoA and run over to US in the late afternoon with the express.

The park may very likely open at 8:30 AM on that Saturday. So be there at the gates before 8:30 AM. I like your plan of spending the afternoon at Universal studios and the morning and evening at IoA because of the weather. It normally rains in the afternoon. Since IoA's rides are outside, many of them shutdown if lightning is in the area. It is better to be at univ. Studios in the afternoon. The rains are usually gone by around 4:00 PM though.

Use single rider whenever it is available. It will save you time.

Thanks for the comments.

I watched the wait times this past Saturday via the AmEx mobile web browser. I know things change weekly, even daily, but it appeared wait times at IoA were longer by 10-11am than those at US. I figured we could catch the two biggest rides (Hulk and Spidey) quickly and then head to US before it get too crazy. Maybe, maybe not?

I would have added Dueling Dragons but the distance seemed too far to double-back.

Like Phantom mentioned, I would like to be at US taking advantage of inside attractions if it's either raining or hot as Hades.

We have been to US and IoA but it has been a while...before Mummy, Shrek, and Simpsons so I needed expert advice and again, thanks for your help.

PS - from all the posts I've read, we will add Horror Make-up Show if at all possible.
