Hi! We've been to IOA/US many times, but this is our first time going in November! We'll be there from the 4-9 and I was hoping you guys could give me some tips about what to expect weather-wise (i.e.-- what to pack/wear), crowd-wise (compared to late August, when we always go), etc. TIA! We're sooo excited to see WWoHP!

Early November is great crowd wise and wonderful weather wise. The parks have been pretty quiet historically but HP will add some crowds to the mix. The weather can be anywhere from the 60's to the 80's and it's not normally humid that time of year. It's a perfect time to come down.

We're going to Florida the 2nd week of November. We did the same in 2005 and the parks were really quiet. Didn't have to stand in a long line for anything.

The weather was mostly in the low 80s with only one thundershower the entire week that lasted about 20 minutes. Humidity? Well.. I felt it, but we're from the Seattle area and not used to having much of any sticky kind of weather so you can't go by my experience.

I used to live in Louisiana & Oklahoma and Florida's humidity in November was nothing like summers in that neck of the woods.

We are going to be there the week after thanksgiving, how is that week usually when it comes to crowds? We only have two days at universal and have never been before, so I want to make the best of it!

We will be there also, Nov 2-8. We are sooo excited!! Everyone has said that it is a wonderful time of year to visit. Hoping for a little pool weather, but would prefer 60's to the heat and humidity we are having this week at home. Cant wait!!

I hear ya. Been really hot here the last couple of days too, (mid 90s) but at least it's a dry hot. Our heat comes from the Eastern side of the Cascade Mts. which is very dry and desert like. We went to DL last August during the hottest week of the year, but it was bearable because the heat was dry there also.

It's supposed to start cooling down around here on Sunday.. hope they're right. I've had enough. :headache:

Thanks, everyone!!

That is wonderful to hear. I don't mind hot weather--we've always loved going in August, but that's good to know it won't be SUPER hot. I do hope at least one day is warm enough to hit up JPRA and DDRSF! We've never thought the crowds were bad at the end of August, so hopefully with WWoHP, it'll be similar to that time.

Sounds great! We never let rain/humidity get us down! I think US/IOA is great for keeping you cool while waiting in line.

Tell me about it--the northeast is having some heat wave, huh?
Are you staying onsite when you go? Are you mixing the trip with Disney or just sticking to IOA/US??

Leading up to the holiday the crowds aren't bad. But the weekend after Thanksgiving is crazy busy! The crowds should return to normal the week you're going...plus the Christmas decorations will be up.

We finally cooled down this evening from a most welcome passing shower for our crispy grass!!

We are strickly IOA/US this trip. Staying off-site in condo/timeshare, because unfortunately, on-site wasn't in the budget this year. Might be our last family trip to Orlando as DS17 will be heading off to college next fall. HP was a big part of his childhood and cant wait share WWoHP with him and DD11.

How about you guys??

The rain yesterday was very welcome for us, too!! For some reason though, it felt even muggier after the rainfall. Not good!
We might work in a day to Epcot or DHS, not too sure at this point. US/IOA is our primary destination, though. We're also staying offsite, makes more sense for this trip--we're staying at the Marriott Royal Palms.
Congrats on your DS heading off to college--I wouldn't be so sure it is your last family vacation! I think my mom continued to take us to US/IOA two or three times after my brother and I went to college!

November has always been a nice time to go for us!
Good to know! I'm very glad!

We are going Veteran's Day weekend. We will have Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in the parks. We plan on staying on site, so hopefully will get in early for WWOHP and use Express for a lot of things. I figure going on a weekend with a holiday just before it may be crowded. Which park should we do which day? I was thinking of IOA on Friday, but that is the day after the holiday. Maybe go ahead and go to IOA on Friday & US on Saturday & then go back to IOA on Sunday? Do you think we are better off getting 2-park passes so we can switch between the parks? I don't know that there is as much for me besides WWOHP at IOA because I don't spin or do inversions. My husband doesn't like to go on rides that you get wet on. Unfortunately, my son loves all of the big spinning & inversion roller coaster rides. It looks like my husband & I are better off at US & my son at IOA for the most part. So, w/ 2-park passes we could switch to US if we get tired of IOA, at least on one day. What do you think?:confused3

im down in orlando 8-18 in novemeber,
fingers crossed the crowds will be somewhere near september crowds,
as in "look! another person!!!"

that said a national holiday in the middle of the trip might effect that somewhat

Any guesses on crowds the Sunday, Monday & Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving? Hoping for the best. (Heard that week was busy at Disney, not sure about IOA/US) TIA!!!:thumbsup2
