My brain is getting old and, I guess, full. It is getting harder and harder for me to access info on a spur of the moment. One question that I notice that keeps popping up here somewhat regularly is what characters are in the parks and where/when to find them.

Let's make a list. That way, when somebody wants to know, we can point them to this thread and my poor tired brain doesn't have to drag the mental pictures out.

Feel free to post what characters you have seen. Where you saw them (park/location). When (day/time) you saw them. If they sign/stamp an autograph book. Maybe that way we can come up with common sightings and rare ones. One of the things that I think is fun about Universal is that you never really know what characters you'll see from one trip to the next.

I'll go dig through my photos and see what I come up with to get the ball rolling...

on the trolley type bus you will see fred and wilma flintstone, barney and betty ruble, popeye and olive oyl, marilyn monroe, lucy and ricky ricardo, etc.

in the car that drives around, you will see shaggy and the entire gang....
it drives around by mels to the street down by lucy and around.
you can't miss that car the way it is painted.......just like in the cartoons.

i have to check my journal for more.
there are a lot more but my brain is fried at the moment.

Outside the exit (and gift shop) for Shrek 4-D. Times were listed in the Adventure Guide.

Donkey and Fiona:

Fiona was only there this one time when we were there. Every other time we stopped by it was just Shrek and Donkey. Donkey is hysterical! Even if you don't want a pic, stop by and listen to him for a few minutes.

We saw Bullwinkle and Rocky in the morning by the Shrek attraction, and Dora the Explorer later that day by Jimmy Neutron. We saw Spidey, Thing 1&2, Cat in the Hat at Confisco Grille. Then Electra, and another hero that my husband recognized but I didn't at Marvel Island. Before IoA closed, there were a dozen super heroes weaving in and out of each other on the roadway on four wheelers and scooter things. They'd stop every so often to talk to people, pose for pictures, and sign autographs.

We were there in January, so there weren't as many characters running around as I had hoped there would be. But we got lots of interaction with the ones who were there!

There are just SO many characters around, you're bound to run into some...even if you aren't looking!

We got all these pictures and weren't looking for character pix & autographs...just took a pic if we "happened" upon them.... :confused3

Outside the main entrance to IOA we saw Bullwinkle:

Immediately following the Barney show in Barney's Backyard playground, they have a photo op:

BTW, this is the only one I know for sure about autographs because the guy in front of us asked Barney to sign his book. The TM with Barney stamped the book with Barney's "signature".

There is a Madagascar float that has Alex and the Penguins on it.

They stop and do a photo op. Times were listed in the Adventure Guide.

I have also seen, but don't have pictures of:

Popeye & Olive Oyl (Toon Lagoon)
Woody & Winnie Woodpecker (Kids Zone)
Beetlejuice
The Blues Brothers
Incredible Hulk
Dr. Doom

Pre digital camera we were lucky enough to meet Lord Farquadd and it was the funniest character costume I had ever seen. He had a GIANT head. Oh he was hilarious. And was stuck in a line- weaving between the ropes so very :rotfl2:
Now I am slightly disappointed on the spiderman- there is a guy in Times Square ny that actually has a better costume! LOL- actually there are several spideys in Times Square!

But back on that breakfast- is it worth it? My 2 youngest LOVE spiderman. And is it in IOA? I am assuming that. We have not been to US in several years- so it is all a little new to us.

Depends on your defination of "worth it".

To have Spiderman at your table and talk with your kids for 10 minutes, then yes.

Money wise? Eh. You have every choice you could imagine for a buffet (in my Jan/Feb TR - link in sig) eggs, french toast, pancakes, cereal, pastries, fruit, everything.... altho, milk (& juice?) are NOT included in the price and cost extra...that is probably the only bad thing.

Overall, for the character interaction and to eat as much as you want (medicore food), then, yes, I guess it is worth it.

Confisco's in located in Port of Entry on your right where the entry splits.

Also, the Rugrats (Tommy, Chuckie, and Angelica), Dora The Explorer and Diego, Jimmy Neutron, and The Wild Thornberrys (Eliza and Donnie) are out front of the Jimmy Neutron ride occasionally.
