Anyone have any suggestions for an all-inclusive resort in the US.....preferably a beach-type place. We have gone to a dude-ranch type resort in the Catskill mountains, and we enjoyed that.....but was wondering if there are any beach-type all inclusives in the Us (and I am not talking in hawaii...;) ) like in florida?!?! Instead of having to leave the country, jsut wondeirng if there were any that we could drive to????

We enjoy paying one price up front and being done with it!

I don't know of any, but could you tell me about the dude ranch. That is my DH's dream.

I think there may be a Beaches in Florida somewhere.

do a google search on "florida all-inclusive". Looks like there are a few, but not too many.

The resort we went to was an all-inclusive resort with a dude ranch theme...not really a true dude ranch where we were rustling up some cattle or anything.....LOL!!!! it was in the catskill mountains....it is called Rocking Horse Ranch. It included meals, activities, including horse back riding up in the mountians. There were kids clubs and activities, a nightclub with nightly entertainment, cocktail parties. Alcoholic beverages were not included, except at each cocktail party there was a 'drink of the day" that would be included.

it really was a great time.....but this time i would like a more beachy-type place. we are going on the Disney cruise in may, and than to Hilton Head in August....so I am thinking ahead!!!! I know we could do an all inclusive beach resort in the Carribbean or Mexico, but just was wonderig if there were any in the US that we could drive to.

Club Med?

There's a Club Med in Port St Lucie. It's on the water but it's not really a beach, it's on the St Lucie river. They do have a little sandy are with beach chairs wher you can put your feet in the water. The have waterskiing, waverunners, hobie cats.

do they have kids activities? Our kids are ages 7 and 9.

I thought there was a Club Med in Florida. Sandpiper, maybe? (is that a city? :rotfl:)

Also, Smuggler's Notch in Vermont looks like lots of fun, though I haven't been there. I think it's all inclusive, but I'm not sure.

There are some resorts in Minnesota where you can purchase meal plans along with your room. They aren't totally all-inclusive, but close. The beach would be on a lake not the ocean. Most of them have great swimming pools/indoor waterparks and lots of kids programs.

For anyone else looking for a 'dude ranch' type experience, I can heartily recommend this spot. Rocking Horse Ranch is a ton of fun, the people there are really great. It's clean, the horses are well cared for. We did a Girl Scout trip there last spring and it was wonderful.
My dd, 30, has also been looking for an all-inclusive type spot in Florida for a girls vacation next year. I'll have to check out your recommendations!!

Does anyone have a link to the dude ranch in NY. My kids might be interested, they're always saying "dude!!!"

There is also a neat all inclusive on Lake Champlain in Vermont. I can't remember the name of it (Ryan something). It was like a summer camp experience for families. Sounded like a lot of fun, but I thought it was a little pricey, even without airfare.

We are going to Canoe Island Lodge on Lake George, NY. They provide two meals a day during peak season, maid service, sailing, boating, and other activities. You have to pay for lunch, tubing and water skiing. We had a great time last year, and plan to go back again this year (Thanks, canwegosoon).
