Can I get some opinions on this airline ??

Thinking of using them for a December trip to Orlando but I've never flown with them before.

Would appreciate any feedback, comments, good/bad experience you've had with them ... thanks.

We've used US Air for many of our WDW trips. We have always been very satisfied with the airline.

Flew for my 1st time in Feb on USAir. It was a very nice flight and I would recommend using them. Good service from attendents also. Mine was a direct flight.

We always fly US Airways, to Orlando and just about everywhere else! Our flights are usually always ontime, and the planes are pretty nice, too. They have a bunch of brand new Airbus Aircraft (319,320,321,330) that are really comfortable to travel in. We usually fly non-stop out of Pittsburgh to Orlando, and the majority of those flights are 737, 757, and MD-80's, but sometimes we get lucky enough to get an Airbus flight (I think they have 1 or 2 daily in the schedule). I would not hesitiate to fly them again (do I really have any other choice from Pittsburgh?;))

basically out of pittsburgh we don't have that much of a choice so its usually usair for us. they have picked up in customer svc(Not much but some) and they have a decent on time performance and a lot of newer aircraft. those airbuses are really nice! they are excellent to their chairmans preferred members who fly a lot they bend over backwards for them. if you have any kind of problem with them I can help you out.

I'm trying to figure out why everyone else likes US Air. Do you think they are still using the older jets in New York? I had the most uncomfortable flights with them this past March.

Or it could be just me.

I like US Air because they tend to overbook, particularly during vacation and holiday times. This gives the enterprising traveler an opportunity to seek or accept a bump and get a free ticket to someplace else. We were bumped on the return from MCO on tickets that we paid $170 for. In return for a little inconvenience, we had a wonderful vacation to California, flying from Hartford to San Francisco....a trip the six of us would not have been able to do without free tickets! As a suggestion, book a flight, mid day on a Sunday after school vacation when everyone has to be back to work on Monday. This is almost a free ticket guarantee!

while its not a guarantee that you will get a free tkt doing that there are people who every single year on certain flights on certain days book these flights knowing full well they will get a free ttk sicne they know the bookings of these flights. usair has files on these people and know who they are year after year after year. a few of them have gotten to the point where they don't even go to the airport with luggage anymore. they know what the drill is. they even check the loads of the flights so they know what will happen.

if you want to get bumped and get a free tkt you should get to the airport as early as possible. get to the gate and be the first in line to check in. when you do tell the agent that if this flight is overbooked that you would be more than happy to be "bumped" they can put you on the list if this is necessary. now if you get a voucher for a dollar amount to get a ttk then you can also obtain frequent traveller miles , if its a voucher for a free flight then you cannot get any miles. and you have to watch because most of those vouchers have blackout dates and restrictions. the dollar amount vouchers can be used at any time.
if you ever need to know what the flight load status is on your usair flight let me know I can get that for you. I can get exact availability no sooner than 14 days prior to date of travel.

WDWNovice,

You don't way where you are flying USAir from or through. Whether they are on time will depend which airport you are going out of, or where you make a connection. However, I can tell you, if you are flying from Philly, beware of baggage claim in philly on the return. Whenever I am on a flight they ALWAYS say my bags will be at carosel A (for example) and then at the last minute announce the carosel is now the furthest one across the airport. Try getting quickly through baggage claim with kids in a stroller. FUN! Also, the timeliness of USAir's delivery of bags in Philly leaves a lot to be desired.

As for MCO, I found their bag delivery time to be about average. However, USAir baggage claim and ticket counters are about as far as possible in MCO from the rental car area.

We normally use US Air with no problem. My only problem with the new airbuses is that the dividing arms do not lift up so if there is no one next to you, I can't lift up the arm anymore and sprawl out.
