for my return flight on aug. 28 (orlando to philly) our flight times changed slightly and that also changed the size of the plane (US Airways)...my original seat assignments were row 32, but this plane only has 25 rows.....

I called US airways to reconfirm but they indicated that can't be done at this time...any thoughts?

You might have a big problem.

Generally when another craft is substituted, you automatically get a seat assignment. Sometimes it's not the one you had before, or a good one, or with your family, etc.

But, because they won't ive you one leads me to believe they are oversold, and will be asking for volunteers/bumping people. Those without seat assignments are often the first to go.

I would all back and get to the bottom of it. Ask direct questions...is the flight oversold? Is there another flight you can give us seat assignments on? Why can't you give seat assignments?

If you don't get answers, ask for a supervisor. Be nice, but assertive at the sme time.

You should definately call back. Airlines always block out a number of seats and it is possible that you have one of those blocked out seats.

This happened to my family and I when we were traveling on SONG.

I called back and was able to get situation rectified.

I would be polite and persistant.

Good luck

took everyone's advice and called back...they were able to give me seat assignments but I am not too crazy about them...

we are in rows 7 & 8 aisle and window.....this plane is 3 and 3 so there will be someone between us....the rep. said she is sure the person in the middle seat will gladly switch to either the aisle or window so my husband and I can be next to our child...but what do you think? should I keep calling back??

Keep them! They are correct, the person in the middle will surely switch. (Trust me, no one wants to sit in the middle seat--let alone between you and your kid!)

I often book DH in the window and myself in the aisle, and when someone ets assigned to the middle (about half the time) we offer them the window. Have never had anyone refuse, although have had them try to take the aisle instead.

Sounds like they gave you the seats they normally block for high level frequent fliers, I would hold onto them. They can't give you exit row because of your child so there probably are no other options. I'm sure someone will switch with you. On a business trip last year, I had a middle seat booked because that was all they had, when I got on, there were 2 guys sitting in the window & middle, they asked if I would "mind" taking the aisle! I really wanted the window seat, so I asked for that and they agreed!
