US Airways - questions PLEASE?

Hi

We were due to fly with Virgin yesterday, which obviously got cancelled. They couldn't get us out there until May so we had to rebook with US Airways. We are now going with them from Manchester to Philadelphia and Phily to Orlando. I've flown with them before but not since all the changes about bagage etc. So...

1) How does the baggage work? Are we charged even though it's long haul for each bag? Can we purchase a second?

2) How do you log in to their site for online check-in etc? I tried to 'manage my flights' and it didn't recognise us on the e ticket number or flight number/passenger name. I'd be more worried except that I had that problem with Virgin too and in that case it was cause they'd run my first and second name together. That didn't work this time. I have emailed expedia about it but I dunno when I'll hear with everything that's going on.

Thanks. I'd just like to be prepared in the hope that we do get to fly on saturday.
 
Your first bag is free. You can take a second one for an additional $50/$55.

And you can't do online check-in until 24 hours before you fly.
 
Thanks for the info. I realised I couldn't do the online check-in yet, I was signing in to 'manage your flights' but I've had a new email since with a code that worked :woohoo: Thanks for the info on the bags :)
 
Did you get refunded for your VA flights or how are they handling it?
 

Yes they're refunding. Expedia did eventually call us back but not til about 9pm that night, by which time we'd given up and booked our own replacement flights (through their website). They said there was no problem refunding the other one but it can take (due to the airlines apparently) up to 12 weeks to be credited :scared1:. Luckily Andy did them on his cc and is ok with that.

So glad. Strange thing but the DIS is really like having another family. I find myself getting emotionally involved with everyones ups and downs. I really want this to work out great for everyone who has had problems because of this. :hug:

I know what you mean! :hug: I want my flight to go on saturday, desperately, but I also want everyone else who is booked or has rebooked to go too!
