Don't know if there are any US Airways Dividend Miles experts here.

Is it possible to for an account holder to use Dividend Miles to buy a round trip ticket for a spouse, even if the account holder isn't traveling?

Playing around with their website, it SEEMS that when you get to the passengers area, you are allowed to change the pre-filled passenger info (account holder info) to another passenger name.

Our plans are to use husbands Dividend Miles to get me (wife) a round trip ticket, and to get him a one-way ticket home. He's going to be away on business & then flying another airline to vacation destination to meet me.

Thoughts? Experiences?

You can use a Dividend Miles account to book travel for another person, even if the account holder is not traveling with that person. However, according to the Dividend Miles information I just read, one-way award bookings are possible, but can only be booked at the round-trip mileage rate. (see item #5 under Reservations here http://www.usairways.com/en-US/dividendmiles/programdetails/memberguide.html) So it may not be worthwhile to use miles for that one portion of the trip.

Yes, we do this all the time. DH travels for work on a weekly basis & racks up more FF miles than he'll ever need for personal use. I eat them up for my Disney girls trips LOL!!!

I've also needed one-way travel with FF miles, and USAir does charge the whole round trip mileage for a one-way, as the previous poster mention. You will have to call to make that miles reservation as well, it cannot be done online like the round-trip ones can.

FYI - Some airlines, such as United, now allow you to book one way tickets using FF miles. This is really convenient, especially when you might have to change a departure or return date. If you book two one ways, it's much easier to make changes.
