US Airways cancelling flights? What to do?

As an airline ticket agent I hate it for the passenger when this happens. It defies logic that when an airline makes a schedule change that they don't have to help if they didn't sell the ticket.

If you'll give me some info, I'll be happy to look into your situation for you. While I cant promise anything, if your ticket was issued by my airline I might be able to find somebody who can.

The first 3 digits in your ticket number identifies what airline issued the ticket. PM me with that info if you'd like me to try and help.
 
You have to KNOW the options before you call. Assuming Expedia is going to spend any time trying to help you is a big error. They gave you what was "easiest" for them? Did you tell them "but I see USAir has the following flights that work better for me?" If not that's where the first error occured....

With Expedia I guess I would try asking for a supervisor.

Yes, they did what was easiest for them. Yes we asked about the flights that we could see that are available on United, Continental and US Airways and yes, we asked repeatedly for a supervisor.

No airline will deal with you if you did not make the reservation directly with them. As you made your reservation thru expedia, you have to deal with expedia.

Do what seashoreCM suggests. And as angry and frustrated as you are ( as I would be too!) be nice! You won't get anywhere if you yell or are mean or tell them they are stupid. As tempted as any human being may be to do or say those things, they won't help. Good luck!

Correct. I was just clarifying for the sake of the conversation who we were dealing with. And you're right, being mean won't get us anywhere.

If the customer makes a choice based on incorrect information given by the vendor then the customer should be permitted to rechoose* upon learning more up to date information.

Many large travel agencies have their own inventory (of seats, rooms, etc.) purchased in advance in bulk. Of course they would rather sell (assign passengers to) seats already in their inventory as opposed to buy additional seats for a customer and then worry about selling their own inventory later.

* Get another bite at the apple, here, revoke her "acceptance" of a particular set of flights in favor of getting another, more desirable to her, set of flights.
