Can someone help me decipher what this means? Does this mean that ALL change fees are waived, or only if traveling to the cities highlighted in red?http://www.usairways.com/TravelCenter/Advisories.aspx

Also, if it does mean all change fees, and I change my travel plans to Monday rather than Sunday, who do I call to cancel the Akershus breakfast reserved for Monday morning? Thanks for the input...

Also, I just thought of this....if our departure city is not affected, nor is our landing city (Orlando, obviously), but our connecting flights ARE affected, does that qualify us for the change fee waiver? i.e. Elmira NY to Philadelphia to Washington DC (Reagan) to Orlando.

Call US Airways! They can tell you exactly what your options are. Likely they can re-route you around the connecting cities if they are affected. I'd have their schedule pulled up on the computer and an idea of what you are willing to accept -- earlier, later, layovers, etc.

Good luck. I had to do this for a hurricane warning 3 years ago and they were very helpful.

I went through a travel agent....Liberty Travel....I called today, and they said not to worry, but now US Airways is putting up travel advisories, and I'm worrying LOL Should I call the TA to assist me with this, or just call US Airways myself? I've never flown before, i have no flippin clue what to do....Thanks for responding though :)

In order to get a free change, your cities would have to be on the list, which they are not right now.

Yeah, I finally figured that out :thumbsup2 Now just waiting to see what happens with the US Airways website, our cities aren't listed yet, but I figure they will be in a short time, maybe tomorrow? Hard to say....glad I have the travel agent's card LOL probably gonna need it

Other cities will be added to the list. Keep checking and make your change asap if you have to. Unfortunately, once flights are canceled, it may be days before you can rebook.

That's going to be the problem. Most flights are normally full these days, they will not have many seats to reaccomodate.

But the OP said the connecting flights WERE affected. I would think that would qualify.

Again, call the airline with an idea of what you want. The worst they can say is "that will be $x." Don't cancel your current flights until you know:
A) New flights/times
B) Cost change

When she posted & I responded, the only cities on the lists were in the islands.

OK, but the post you quoted even included that her connecting cities are included. That's what I was basing it on.

Her original question was only "what if" her connecting cities were included but not her originating. At that time, they were not, I checked the link she posted.

So you think that originating or final destination cities are what have to be included? Why not the connecting cities? I'm confused.

The connecting cities are now included so she can get her free change. At the time I posted, the only cites showing were in the Bahamas/Carribean.

Three summers ago we were scheduled to fly to MCO from BGR and of course, there was a hurricane coming. As it was supposed to hit MCO on our arrival date, I called USAir and asked if they wanted to change our flight to a day earlier so to avoid the last minute hassle and stress. USAir couldn't have been easier to work with. They willingly, without charge, changed our flights to a day earlier, then when the storm track shifted, changed our plans back to our original flights!

FWIW, I would work directly with USAir and not the travel agent. TA's aren't magic; you can usually get the same arrangements for yourself that your TA can get, and you don't have to wait for the TA to have time in their schedule to call the airline. I would pull up the USAir flight schedule on my laptop and call them directly to see what you can work out.
