I am not familiar with US Airways, really we have only flown Frontier. US Airways has the best airfares for December right now, Have you ever flown US Airways and what was your experience with the service and the craft itself.

I've flown a few hundred thousand miles on US Airways. They're one of the major carriers in the country, and as good as most of them. (I feel American is actually a step-above all the rest.)

I've flown USAirways many times before and never had a problem. I will be taking them for both of my Disney trips this year. They usually have the best prices and best schedules from Washington. As I mentioned on a prior post, I bought my plane tickets for my September trip for $143 RT. Great price!

We fly out fri. morning using usair for the first time. I will let you know how it is when we get back!

really $143 RT? i'll be leaving for Disney in sept too from washington DC :) off to check out their website :)

We prefer JetBlue but we will still almost always go with the best price available.

We have flown USAir many times but not since 2002. We will be flying them one-way down to Orlando in June. We found a good Friday evening one-way flight for $89 and grabbed it! We decided to fly JetBlue home though.

We've flown them more than any other airline, as they are the dominant carrier in our neck of the woods. Customer service is not always the best and has actually been noticeably worse during the last year or so since the merger w/American West. They have had lots of union-related issues, but I think they are starting to get back on track again. They usually offer competitive fares where they are in competition with SWA or JetBlue and they offer a good many non-stop flights, which is a huge plus in my opinion.

We've never had any safety issues with them and the planes themselves are fine, but typical - not enough room, especially if you have long legs! :sad2: No one will break into song during your flight  (as sometimes happens on SWA with their often-zany flight attendants), unless it is a passenger, but service is generally competent if not overly solicitous.

Just got back Tuesday night on USAIR. No complaints whatsoever. Everything was on time, smooth, and we were the first ones to get our luggage when we got back to Phila.

Which is one reason why the airlines respond like they do, with ever-lower quality. FWIW.

Ouch! ;) That is a shame but it is hard on a family when some prices are ridiculously high. I do want to note, however, that convenience in our flight would make us want to pay more (not A LOT more) but if the flights are better, i.e., nonstop, we will pay more. JetBlue does offer a lot more than other airlines and whenever possible we will go with them, even if it cost a bit more.

You guys still fly US Airway even though it doesnt participate in RAC? I am very hesitent to book with them cause they dont work with RAC and I really want to use that feature since I am staying at Disney in Sept (flying from DC as well).

Take heart. Airfares are getting very close to where they need to be; they won't be getting much higher than they are now. The airline industry is expected to actually break-even, as a whole, this year, for the first time in many many years. So figure another couple of percentage points over today's airfares for a reasonable profit and things should be pretty consistent from then on, adjusted for inflation, of course.
