Urgh buying shares...

I have 15 shares, purchased them bout 8 years ago... over the years Disney have messed around with them, first they registered them in France and stuck them in a french bank, then they consolidated them into 15 shares- think originally i had 1500.

Anyway - I wanted to buy more, the shares are now called pure shares and are held with SocGen in France. I thought after a big fuss I could buy off their website, but it seems all I have done is placed an order, the site has no facility for taking payments, so after a few messages I was told to wire 50% of the funds to them now and the rest when they are bought, I have no idea how much they will buy them for.

Ive wired a few Hundred euro to them today..... I have a feeling the money may end up lost!

My Tip - if you got Pure registered shares like me and want to buy more... Sell what you got with SocGen and buy more from a UK broker!

You could have bought them from Halifax in the UK. I have shares held by Social General which are the ones I have originally purchased. When I wanted to buy more they said I could buy and hold them elsewhere and they will still honour membership providing I showed proof I still own them.

Haven't had a problem renewing. I have 10 with Social General and 45 with Halifax. Its so much easier buying them in pounds and the bank converts plus Halifax always have deals on commission.

I would recommend halifax too....but i did keep my original pure shares too after the share consolidation....and yes thousands of shares disintegrated into tens . I like keeping my pure shares which are now only 20, as i get full annual reports, share holder invites etc.....and i love that halifax once a month do an offer with reduced commission so i can keep toppinmg up my shares

If other people get the documents and invites without being pure registered ....please let me know and i will move the whole lot to halifax

I've never held pure shares for Eurodisney SCA, and I get the full shareholders reports/invites etc.

Same as. Johnny and I have halifax shares and we still get updates and invites etc

You probably won't have to move them unless its easy to do, then let me know please. I have just left the 10 with social general. I do get current statements from them and that is acceptable.

After my experience I would advise not to move them!!!
