Feel free. I’d rather open up a discussion on this topic. I think most families, in the summer, leave to go back for rest, food or a swim to escape the heat. Correct me if I’m wrong but that would would leave only one FP for the evening return and probably no tier ones at that.

It's not only one in the evening. It's one at a time in the evening (really right after you use your third, not necessarily in the evening). With the amount of travel time back and forth to your resort you have plenty of time to dedicate to refreshing for something good when you return. After that keep looking to see what's available. I'd set your sights a little lower, not expect to get really popular rides (you may still get them) but I've gotten HM for about 7:30 while waiting to get seated for dinner and I've gotten TT for 7 or 7:30 so before dinner so it's definitely possible to get them later in the evening. But I wouldn't only plan to go to that park in the evening. I would make sure I had it as a morning park one day to get headliner FPs and RD.

We book FP+ starting around 11, will usually 2 two back to back in the same area then break for like an hour and a half to build in lunch time. The third FP for us always seems to be separate (distance wise) from the other two, so it prevents us from trying to rush to the third FP we stop for lunch. MK works great for this as you can easily get FP for almost everything through out the day. We only do stand by if the wait is less than 30 min. Side note we do not take a pool/nap break (my parents have a pool in GA we use and I hate spending $3000-$4000 to sleep).
Just don’t let yourself get caught up in the FP refresh game too much and miss the time with your family. It begins to be a competition to see what you can get.
