Urgent question re 2 hotels

You sound about as decisive as me!:rotfl: For what it's worth, if I had been given the choice, I would have gone for HNY. The reviews are generally a lot more positive and from what I've read, the rooms are a lot bigger. I would defer to the experienced Dissers on here and their opinion seems to be that you were absolutely right!:thumbsup2

I am sure you wont be disappointed with Hotel New York :thumbsup2

Have to say I'm a massive Hotel Newport Bay fan, but no way would I turn down a free upgrade to the New York. :)

Although I haven't stayed at NPB (yet!), we stayed at HNY in June and it was really lovely. We had a standard room (king bed with pull out sofa bed for DD), the King bed was 3 pillows wide... great to not be kicking DD during the night. If it came down to a choice, I'd definitely stay there. There was lots of planned and unplanned character interaction and the atmosphere in the hotel was lovely and cosmopolitain. Although I'd like to stay at NPB for a different experience, having seen pics of both rooms, the HNY is in a different class for me. I'm sure either way you'll have a great time, but I'd definitely opt for HNY everytime...

We're staying at Seqouia for Christmas (Montana room lake view), keeping my fingers crossed for some pixie dust or an early present from Santa and a cheeky wee upgrade to a Suite or a crazy bit of blind luck where we're double booked and the only room left in the whole resort is the Cinderella Suite at DLH lol but I'll probably be onto plums! A girl can dream though :cloud9: :rotfl2:

Hope the pixie dust continues with you through your trip! Have a magic time!

I've not stayed at NPB but would say you've definitely made the right choice!! :)

HNY is lovely and as others have said has lovely big rooms and is a lot closer to the parks. Also it has a hot breakfast included as well as the cold. NPC only has cold breakfast options (unless you pay extra)

I would definitely stay at HNY but would hesitate about NPB as it can get pretty busy and hectic I think.

I stayed in the NYH last year with my hubby and 2 boys, they loved it and so did I, it was very posh!!! They also had a lot of characters in and out, specially in the mornings and early evenings :)

Hey Im staying in the HNY (7th-9th Nov) so see you there :)

The NPB is lovely but how cool that you got upgraded to the HNY!

Littlemermaid, if you see a crazed woman running after a 4 year old girl and a 18 month old with dark curly hair, shouting Mia and Holly it will be me.

well she has just rung back, not sure if it was the right thing to do.

We had an Admiral room at The NBC and a standard room at NY, she said they are about the same.

Oh well done now, after your replies on here, and looking on trip advisor thought it would be a nice idea.

On Trip Advisor, NY is 4 out of 25 hotels and NBC is 13th.

Please tell me it was the right thing to do.

Hi Just wondering how you got on with your upgrade? Were you happy with your decision?

the hotel was lovely, but of course have nothing to compare it to. The room was nicer than the room we had at the Holiday Inn though the last time.

the only niggle we had, which was not a major problem was that there was no playhouse disney in english for our 4 year old in the morning, so she either had to watch the Disney Channel, or watch it in German.

We had a drink in the bar, which was nice, lots of young children in there, our 19 month old had a cup of milk.

We also had the evening buffet which was very nice too.

So good choice to change hotels.

I loved the HNY too, I would stay there again given the chance and money.
