Hi all!

Quick question regarding photopass. It says on the box that it is valid for 10 days from 'first use'. Does this mean when it is bought in the shop or for actual first use when handed to a photographer?

I ask as Im at the parks currently and want to buy photopass for our trip in the coming weeks but am worried it will activate at the checkout. So if I buy it tonight will the 10 days start ticking from now or will it begin once I have my first photo taken?

I've tried asking cast members but aren't having much luck!

Thanks in advance :)

You have to activate the personal code before it works.
So it starts "counting" from the moment you activate the code.
Which you can start activating whenever you want.
The code is on the back of the pass, which is in the package.
So it's not activated from the moment you actually buy it.

Ah okay! Thank you so much for your reply. So if I buy it tomorrow but don't actually open it/ do anything with it until a couple of weeks time then everything will be okay?
I tried speaking to a cast member earlier but I think he was getting confused and told me Id need to buy it when I come in a couple of weeks as it activates when you buy, but as I said I think he was getting a bit mixed up!

So this is definitely confirmed it isn't activated and the 10 days definitely don't begin to countdown when you first purchase it? It's not until you register the code?

This was one of the questions a few of us asked during the trial in June.

Unfortunately as soon as you pay for Photopass+ the EPOS system (cash register) automatically activates it. They had to reprogram the EPOS systems to send a message to the Fuji Photo servers when one is purchased, so the code gets sent to the Fuji to mark it was an active and sold code. Problems with the computer code not working correctly was one of the reasons Photopass+ was delayed in being launched.

It was done this way to stop possible theft of the packs Back Stage and to stop them working if they were stolen from a shop.

So NO don't buy it now to use later as the 10 days will run out before you want to use it.

Right, thank you Jonjo I think I will leave it for now. Fingers crossed it's still in stock in a few weeks!
