Urge to be on a ride - am I the only one?

Silly little thread here.

On occasion I get the urge to be on a WDW ride. Today I sat down at my computer at work and felt the urge to be riding The Haunted Mansion. Am I the only one that goes through this?

:wave2:

You're definitely not the only one!
Yesterday we were jamming out to our Four Parks One World CD, listened to Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain Medley! So giddy!!

I actually had that need last night but I'm close enough that I just went. didnt' get on the ride I wanted (lightning in area) but got a nice alternative..

I love that, Way Too Excited! Good idea, too. My daughter is definitely one who prefers to know what to expect. I wish I would have shown her the roller coaster ride videos last year, but it was our first time, and I didn't think about checking you tube for rides. I only found them when we returned because I had the post trip blues and needed a way to prolong the fun. However, by the 2nd coaster, she was hooked, so it all worked out.

I don't get the urge to ride a particular ride, it's more that I have a quick mental image of being at WDW. It could be something as simple as thinking of walking on the wooden walkway (bridge?) between the Liberty Bell and Splash Mountain. Just being at WDW has become my "happy place" over the years.

Yeah, my daughter is a bit of a 'fraidy cat :rotfl:but she told me the other day that when we eventually go (we tell her we're not going anytime soon, but definitely someday) that she wants to ride "the yeti ride" with me. Rock on, kid!

I get those, too. For some reason I often find myself imagining walking through Future World in Epcot. It's not even my favorite park and I just want to be there.

Yay! That one ended up being our fave! I didn't even get FP for it because she swore she wouldn't do the roller coasters, but when I finally wore her down, we walked right on. It was about an hour before park closed on a Tuesday end of Jan. I know you're excited to take your girl!

Not so much a ride, but very often I visualize the MK, usually in the morning and smile thinking "right now someone is walking down Main street USA for the first time, smelling the scents from the bakery, seeing the castle for the first time, hearing the train whistle, or stopping to watch the Dapper Dans. I'm happy for them, but envious as the same time. Or perhaps at 2:45 I remember waiting for the parade, in my mind seeing the bouquets of balloons, and remember the excitement of little children.

I sometimes have the urge to play golf with the guy from COP who sits at his 50s kitchen table talking about the rat race. Which is strange as I do not play golf.

I get that all the time! I love it. Little urges or mental images of being on POTC and smelling the musty water smell, or walking through World Showcase. Those are the little moments that make WDW my happy place!
