Upscale Restaurants

I've heard about Pharmacy, it sounds very cool......like their weird website......lol......also going to try Ravenous Pig this year.......glad to see another recommendation for it....

Carole we did Ravenous Pig in October (my mom met R's mom for the first time and wanted to do something nice halfway between Disney and Lake Mary). Cannot say enough good things about this place - American dining at its peak! Service was impeccable, cocktails were (to borrow one of your phrases) LUSH, and the food was fresh and prepared perfectly. I think you guys would love it! @lovewdwdvc this would be a great place for a date night if you're making an evening of it and willing to drive just a little farther.

Thanks Melinda......that's really good to read.......we're definitely hoping to get to it this time.......you sold me on the cocktails......::yes:: Only ever see good reviews for it, not sure why we didn't go before when we were up in that area........

Which of the fine dining restaurants are child-friendly? Also, what is the dress code at most of them? Dress shorts and button down shirt acceptable?

Ate upstairs at Wolfgang Puck at Disney Springs and it was amazing, not downstairs.. Two VERY different places.

Ravenous Pig I have heard nothing but amazing things.... Its in Winter Park and not fine dining, but a gastro pub that all my foodie friends swear by and drive from Tampa to go to.

I have only been to Ravenous Pig of these places... have also been to Seasons 52 in Atlanta. Both would be fine for well behaved children (especially earlier during the dinner hours) and the attire that you suggested would also go over just fine.

I want to try the Chef's Table at Edgewater, it gets very good reviews. I might go next week. Has anyone here tried it?

I'll second Bull & Bear. Although the review on the DFB site is somewhat dated (being from November 2010) the description of the atmosphere, quality of the foods and service are still spot on. We've eaten at B&B several times. Living nearby we stop in nearly every month. Always enjoy the experience. And its not just a steak house, you really should try the "fried chicken" there.
