In all the years I have been traveling to WDW I have never come across a nice deli, gourmet food store or wine and cheese shop near WDW. I would think a metropolitan area the size of greater Orlando would have some...hopefully not too far from WDW.

If you have visited one you would recommend I would be very interested in the name and location. Thanks...

Actually, Goodings has some very nice gourmet items, such as premade foods (sandwiches, items to microwave, etc). They also have a good selection at the deli counter, cheese, meats, etc. Plus a fairly good wine and liquor selection.

I know it doesn't sound very 'upscale', but ABC Liquors on Apopka-Vineland just past Crossroads has an excellent choice of wines and a very knowledgeable manager. Also (about a 20 min. drive) to Conroy Rd. is "The Fresh Market" and believe me they have an excellent selection of cheeses and all types of deli items as well as wines and some normal grocery stuff. If you need directions I will be glad to help.

Love the "the Fresh Market" we go to the one in Naples. Their stuff fish is great. We also have had some good crab dip.

Tixx - was looking forward to the Belmar beach cam, but it's all blacked out. I grew up in Manasquan and miss the beach!

Thanks for the tip... A Google search shows one at this address also:

5000 Dr Phillips Blvd
Orlando, FL 32819

It's much closer to WDW...

I believe it is at the corner of Dr. Phillips and Conroy Rd. It is in a 'strip' mall with a CVC Pharmacy on the corner. You will be very pleased I am sure!
The cheese selection is very expansive as are all the other 'deli' type foods. Multiple soups, sandwiches, meat selection items, seafood, bakery etc. There is a large selection of coffees and teas, chocolates and wonderful fresh fruits. They also have lots of baskets and stuff like that. Very easy to get to from WDW. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I actually brought quite a bit of stuff back to Michigan on my last 2 trips to Florida.

Also, be sure to check out the Publix supermarkets. They have a decent selection of cheeses/salsas/hummus/etc. in a cooler near the deli. They also have a good wine selection for a grocery store.

Not sure if the Publix stores in Orlando have this, but our local stores have wonderful California rolls and other sushi items freshly made every day.

Marriott's Grande Vista has a wine/cheese tasting party - it was great - the guy was from around the Orlando/Kissimmee area.

I will check on the Florida tug site - to see if any owners know the name of the place.

It was very good wine (not to mention cheese) at very reasonable prices!!!!
