Hi, I've visited this board off and on for a long time but just decided to make a username and ask a few questions. What are some of your favorite upscale and romantic places to eat. Somewhere you would definitely dress nice to go? Thanks

Many will say Victoria and Albert's in the Grand Floridian. I have never been, but it is quite upscale and I'm sure very nice and romantic.

My DH and I ate at California Grill in the Contemporary on our last visit and really enjoyed it. It was very nice, and I'd say more upscale and less "crowded" than say the restaurants in EPCOT. We dresssed up, and there is a resort casual dress code they enforce. We will return for my birthday dinner next month. The view of the castle is amazing.

We will also be trying Citricos in the Grand Floridian for ther first time next month.

By the way, both of these restaurants are about half the price of Victoria and Albert's, just as a point of reference.

Hope that helps.

We always to at least one 'date night' on our trips and keep going back to:

Jiko
Citricos
Flying Fish

We've also had great times at California Grill but it's definitely the busiest of the signature restaurants. Artist Point has great food but it's not really romantic.

definitely Victoria and Albert's if you don't mind the expense (and it's worth every penny).

We haven't eaten at Bistro Paris yet (we're doing that next month) but that's an upscale French restaurant in Epcot that is supposed to be very romantic and I've heard they have good food.

Some of the top ones I have heard for upscale and romantic include:

- Jiko
- Narcoosies
- CA Grill
- V&A
- Bistro de Paris

I have only been to Bistro. Personally I didn't love it (we were close enough to the table next to us that I could have reached over and taken something off their plate with my fork!) but it seems to get good feedback. CA Grill has a reputation for sometimes being quite noisy. And V&A is supposed to be amazing but it is substantially more pricey than the others.

If you can spend the $$ V&A's is worth it. We go every other year and it's a special evening for us! I so look forward to it and don't go anywhere else like it. All the other suggestions are great and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

I ate at the CA Grill in June and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the servers were helpful and the view can't be beat. We saw Wishes during our meal and it truly was magical!! :goodvibes

I'm going back again in December to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday and I can't wait!!! It is the one restaurant in Disney I will visit every time I go! :thumbsup2

Lots of good suggestions here. Obviously V&A's is at the top of the list. I'd add Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge on your places to consider. Great food, wine list, atmosphere, and service.

I would consider Narcossees(at the GF)and Shula's ( at the Dolphin). We have had nice romantic dinners with great food at both. Also the Yachtsman Steakhouse is nice if you make a later res, about 8pm or so.

V&A's at GF and Artist Pointe at WL. We've eaten both places.

No kids allowed at V&A's, but AP allows families, so V&S's is more relaxing & although more expensive you can't beat it for a romantic evening. I've never in my life taken 3 hours to eat dinner, but that's how long it took that night. There was a harpist playing during dinner, too.

Well, Victoria and Albert's is worth every cent to us! It is romantic and special plus the foood was amazing!

Citricos and Flying Fish are a bit louder but the food has always been great! If you go ask for a quiet table and they will usually try to accomodate you!

Also.. Blue Zoo is LOUD but sit in the bar and have a great drink and enjoy the party!:woohoo:

Thank you all for your input. We've been to Disney many times but never stayed in Disney itself. I'm just really exploring right now because it might just be the two of us as well as there could be some friends with their kid as well. Which will probably make a difference as to which hotel we book. Thanks!
