Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

Love the hat pics!!!!

So you ate at Raglan and now I have to follow another thread to see what you ate???????? :headache::headache::headache:

Another great DIS meet! Were you guys watching the balloon go up and down while you were having your drinks on the patio at Raglan? :scratchin

I too was bummed about part of the Legos store being blocked off. I really wanted Jack and his friend to the all of the sculptures. Jack kinda remembers them from 3 years ago, but Michael has never seem them. Oh well. It probably would have been hard to pull them out of Disney Quest anyway.:lmao:

This made me tear up! I love that this dream came true for you!!!

Wonderful room pictures - it's SUCH a stunning resort. When we stayed there I couldn't walk down the hallway without stopping to gaze out. :cloud9:

And what wonderful friends you have in Tim and Mel! So thoughtful! Such a nice surprise. :goodvibes

Thanks, Brook. I think I stopped at every window (we had a LONG walk to our room from the lobby) and just gazed at whatever animal was out there.

Tim and Mel are great!

They got rid of Snow White and the dwarves! I loved that Lego sculpture! :sad1:

Yes, I was very upset because I had seen the pictures everyone was posting.

Man, now I'm thinking I have to try AKV one of these days. I loved the resort when I visited for Sanaa and now seeing the rooms and view...

All these Disney plans, I'm going to need to ask for a 300% raise!

Glad to hear you've had a great time so far!

I'm already skipping banter in between :p I'm determined to keep up this time to some extent!

Allan, don't worry about the chatter...we do like to go on and on here.

I really think you would loe the AKV...especially with your love of taking pictures.

Kathy, You already got some beautiful pics at AKV, especially my buddies the giraffes!:cool1: I love your reaction to the resort - that's how I felt when we stayed there - it was only for 2 nights, but I felt so blessed to really be staying there!

How nice of Tim and fam to send you the goodie bag!

Tammie, ours was only two nights too, but I have a surprise which I will post AFTER this TR is done regarding AKV (and NO people we did NOT buy DVC).

I think someone has a future career as a hat model :cutie: I can't believe all the different styles of Mickey ears they have now, I remember going as a little kid and it was just the standard black ones

Sounds like you guys had a great night enjoying a drink with friends and relaxing afterwards!! I can't wait to get some shopping in at DTD!! :goodvibes

Ps 2 days :cool1:

Mark has been doing that hat thing for the last four or five trips...he'll ask me to get the camera out now to get a picture. Wait until later in the TR...our son Andy gets into it too!

So happy you only have two days till you go.

You know, I love seeing the intricately crafted Lego sculptures they have there. I wonder if they accept volunteers to help with the demolition of old ones though? Everybody knows it is as much fun to tear Legos apart as it is to put them together. :lmao::rotfl2:

Looks like a great evening at DTD and some time well spent with DIS friends.:thumbsup2

I'm with you...I love tearing them apart. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It was a very fun evening with some really nice people.

Are those PICKLE ornaments in the background???:lmao::lmao:

Off to read your dining review! Can't wait for more!!

They do look like that, don't they? I do know I saw some while shopping and laughed my a** off.

Another soak in the jacuzzi tub? It looks like you made good use of it:)

I made great use of it in the two nights we were there. :)

The balloon was not going up and down the two nights we went to DTD. The first night, it had been windy, and I don't think many people want to fork over $18 per person to ride it.

So you were at Disney Quest with the boys. We did that once and then I told the boys it didn't go over well and was no longer there (thankfully, they didn't drag me down there to be sure I was telling the truth :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

Return of the hat pictures. Very nicely done.

I think that Lego sculpture of the prince and the dragon is amazing. Just spectacular.

:woohoo: for DIS meets!

Actually Kathy, Jeanette and I sent the boys and Meadow to Disney Quest with their Dads so we could shop. I actually do enjoy Disney Quest tho...just not as much as shopping.

Love all the hat pictures! Mark could become a professional hat modeler. Sounds like y'all had a very nice evening in DTD. And that's great that y'all got to meet up with some DIS friends!

I think all the Legos are amazing, but that one is truly great.

My kind of girl! :thumbsup2

I wonder if we could talk Disney into letting Mark be the "Disney Professional Hat Modeler" and then we could move to Florida?

:goodvibes he seems like he would like that sense of humor.
:thumbsup2

Mark is one of the most laid back, fun loving people...he loves this kind of stuff.

pipe down you peep.

that was the not so happy family the other part of the time.

okay were back to friendly.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

So I woke up on Saturday around 8:00 or so (a sleep-in day for me!). I went out on the balcony and this is what I saw:

I took a shower and then woke Mark up so he could shower so that we could go to breakfast at Boma.

We went to the lobby and there was no van in front (there is a van that takes you back and forth to Jambo House). We figured that since we were eating a big breakfast that we should walk there and walk back -- we would need the exercise after the big meal we were about to eat.

We were early for our 9:35 ADR (I think we got threre about 9:10), so I took some pictures at Jambo before we checked in for breakfast.

Our breakfast was outstanding as always (for a full review, you'll need to go my dining reviews).

After breakfast, we went outside and then shopped in the gift shop at Jambo:

Mark bought this one for part of his costume for the MNSSHP Party:

I REALLY wanted to buy this hat and I'm not sure why I never did:

We then walked back to Kidani and went to the room to get ready for the pool. We stopped at our gift shop, and I bought my Mug for the remainder of the trip.

A little story about the gift shops. While at the gift shop at Jambo, the CM's were telling us about another CM who often trains the new CM's and who knows everything you need to know about the AKL and the animals, etc. When we got the the gift shop at Kidani we met her. Her name was Joan and she is 83 years old and full of knowledge. If you are ever there, ask for Joan and ask her to give you some fact about AKL. She was absolutely fascinating and charming.

Back in the room, a few more animal pictures:

Up next, Mark goes the pool. Will I tear myself away from the animals and go with him this time.

Hm, to answer your question ........ you might have joined him at the pool! ;)

I love your photos, they bring back so many fond memories of AKL! Isn't it wonderful, to wake up and walk out on the balcony and see all those animals?
Mark's hat photos are awesome and you are modelling the hat I bought! :rotfl2: I needed something to keep my hair "moderately" in place while driving in the convertible and the hat just did the trick!

Can't wait for more popcorn::

Your pics of the AKV are so pretty! It just seems so quiet & peaceful. Loving that Mark is still modeling hats! He can match Reid with the pirate Mickey ears. I'm going to have to find some time to hop over & check out your dining review.

Awesome, lovely pictures of AKL/AKV. We have two nights/one day before our fd pkg. starts in March, if a super good code came out this is making me think we should book there instead of POR (before heading to CSR for 10 nights).

Love the blouse you wore that day! And Mark is looking good in those hats!

Gosh! I can see why you have that big smile on your face Kathy...that place is so gorgeous. I really want to stay there at least 1 night in the future!

I love that Mark likes to try the hats on. I know somewhere deep inside my grumpy dh is a kid at heart and loves Disney (not quite as much as I do...but he does nonetheless) Yet...he would not be so inclined. :sad2:

I love your animal print top. It is so cute on you! I think I commented on the top on your PTR, right?

And... this picture...

Day2Pictures051.jpg

I had to do a double take. I thought someone was sitting on his lap. :rotfl2:

All the other animal/savanna pic are amazing as is the ones of Jambo house. Has me wondering... :rolleyes1

More gorgeous pictures! You both look so happy and I love the hat pics!

Aw, Kat, what wonderful updates! First off, I completely understand your weepiness when you entered Kidani. I felt the same when we entered the GF, it's so special! And wow, Kidani blew me away, your pictures are gorgeous. I love all the detail, love it!

All these hat pics are cracking me up! Mark is such a good sport! And why didn't you buy yours?? It was stylin' Kathy!

There is something very soothing and serene about watching animals, isn't there? I could sit on that deck area for hours and just soak it all in. And I'm happy to see your babies (the giraffes of course!) were out too.

Boma is ridiculously good. Seriously. Though I do prefer breakfast to dinner there, but that's just me.

Everything is pointing to a perfect trip for you guys thus far. Can't wait to read more!:thumbsup2

Love all the different hat pics.:thumbsup2

I feel the same way about Disney Quest as you do Kathy. I spent one whole Mothers Day there with DH & boys. Once was enough.:)
