What a nice surprise! A great way to start off the trip with Pixi dust from friends! All those goodies have made me hungry! The photos of the Villa are so nice! I would not expect that from AKL given it is a "lower end" deluxe guess the villas are opposite though! So pretty!

I left you with Mark getting ready for the pool. I chose NOT to go swimming. I know...what is wrong with me? It's 90 degrees in Florida and I don't want to go swimming. But I just could NOT leave that view. I did walk Mark down to the pool so I could take a look around.

And the ONLY picture I took during that time? It was Mark in the hot tub:

I went back to the room and just sat on the patio and soaked it all in. I wrote out a couple of postcards that I had promised to send to some DIS kids and then took a bath in that beautiful jacuzzi tub..

When Mark came back to the room, there was a knock on the door. I was told we had a delivery and was handed this:

Inside we found these goodies:

In case you don't recognize the names, that is our good friends, Tim and Mel, parents of the beautiful Princess Juliana and new arrival Christopher Michael. Tim's DIS name is that's nice.

Tim, Mel, Ana and Christopher -- although we thanked you by text message and Facebook, we send our sincerest thanks once again. It was a beautiful gesture and totally not necessary. But we thank you for your thoughtfulness, but more importantly your friendship.

I'll have to stop here...photobucket is giving me issues.

Kathy - you almost have me sold. I found myself looking at rental points for AKV... it looks wonderful... the hot tub looks great! That's one thing missing at the Poly for sure! I could sit in that all day while my fish... er kids.... swim!

I love the bathroom at AKV, the Lion King tiles are so perfect! I love all of the Lion King touches everywhere, they're subtle, but they fit in so well with the theme!

I don't blame you for not going swimming, I'd much rather stare at giraffes than swim!

I would have had a hard time leaving that view too! I do miss those jacuzzi tubs in the DVC's sometimes...

I truly HATE when work and life get in the way of my DIS time. Finally, I am doing responses.

Oops....I got behind on a couple of posts. All caught up now! Your pictures are great. It definitely seems like a very relaxing resort. I do love the curtains with the Lion King characters. And what a sweet gift y'all got! I have to say "Thank You" again for Reid's postcard. He was so excited! And it is on his dresser next to his picture of him & Peter Pan.

It was a relaxing resort; and I'm glad Reid has held on to his postcard.

Well, well, what do ya know? I arrived at just the right time!

I love, love, love your AKL lodge pics. The room is amazing, the view is amazing, and the resort is amazing. I'm telling you, KatMark is taking over the AKL resort thread. Buh bye CSR!!!

Tim, your timing couldn't have been better. Tim, you and Mel and the kids must stay there some time...it is truly amazing. I dont' think I'll be taking over AKL, but I may be relinquishing the CSR thread.

The difference is Ana and Christopher are children...and I like to spoil children. We are OLD people and don't need goodies. But we love you for thinking of you (well, we loved you anyway...just a little more now).

I love reading and seeing AKL through your eyes. You had me tearing up when you said you started crying, something so magical about Disney that does that to us. I remember walking into the AKL lobby for the first time and thought I would pass out with all there was to see, I can't imagine walking in there knowing I would be staying there!

On our trip in 2013 it's my plan to stay there for a couple of nights, just so we can say we stayed there. The more I see your pics the more I'm getting excited about staying there.
