We are staying at the BWV for 5 nights/6 days and plan on getting UPH tickets. We are now planning to arrive a day early and stay at the all stars for one night before we check into BWV. Is it possible to get a 7 day UPH when we arrive at all stars? How does that work if you spend 1 night at one resort and 5 night at another (the 5 nights as a DVC renter). Any recommendations?

I don't think it's possible to combine the LOS passes from two different resorts. It IS possible to combine them with the same resort but different units/sizes. Still, just get up early and go over to BWV and check in early and go ahead and get your passes and likely the 10% members discount as well. Don't drop the first day but you still may want to drop the last day.

Sorry to butt in on the thread, but instead of creating my own.... ;)

How does one purchase UPHs in advance to get the advance purchase price and the 10% DVC discount?.. or can you?

DVC members (or renters) staying on points can't purchase in advance so you can't combine the two discounts.

DVC point reservations can ONLY purchase UPH at the resort (while some guests/renters have gotten the 10% DVC discount, only members are actually entitled to that). Advance purchase UPH are NOT available for point reservations at all.

Enjoy!

Anymore suggestion concerning 2 hotels (1 night at all-stars and 5 nights at BWV)? Any suggestions on types of tickets to purchase?

There are several options. These include the one I mentioned previously as well as an Annual Pass (or Premium AP) and Park Hopper passes. What's best depends on your park style and what else you like to do as well as your next trip plans. For most people the LOS pass is not the best option. It may be best for those who like to go all day and visit not only multiple parks but more than one type of park during the day like the water parks. Still, there is a lot of other things to do so no need to have to go to the parks on that day of arrival. Plan some activities like Pleasure Island, shopping, eating at one of the resort restaurants. Hit Beaches and Cream, Olivia's, Whispering Canyon or maybe ESPN for Lunch then do a nice dinner at anyone of a number of nice resort restaurants, go check out and eat at AKL since you'll be that way already. Maybe play miniature golf. And one of my favorite is simply exploring the various resorts. Relax at the pool then turn in early and get over to BWV early if possible.

Anymore suggestion concerning 2 hotels (1 night at all-stars and 5 nights at BWV)?

We just returned from 2 weeks at WDW
4 nights at BWV's on points
2 nights at VWL on cash
5 Nights at BWV's on points

My DW DS and I have annuals but we brought a friend of my DS's so the lenght of stay UPH worked for him. We were able to get a 10 night 11 day UPH at the the front desk at BWV with our members 10% discount. UPH's are usually attached to the room key so in this case they created a dummy reservation for the 10 nights and attached the UPH to it , the card actually said DUMMY SKINNER which was good for a few laughs. They did caution us not to loose the ticket as there is no reservation in the system to trace it back to. It worked fine never a problem at any parks water parks or disney quest.
As an aside we were debating about the LOS boat and bike plan, they would have honoured it for the 2 weeks as well but only at the original Marina
If you have any questions please ask.

I have occasionally read of others being able to get a single UPH ticket for a stay at more than one DVC resort. It was ALWAYS multiple DVC resorts however, and I think that is a key criteria. Not sure this is available if one of the resorts is not DVC (Perhaps it has to do with the separate reservation systems for DVC vs CRO). Of course, it never hurts to ask.

If I were in the OP's position, though, I'd take Dean's suggestion - do something besides a park on arrival day, and check in early the next day at the DVC resort.

Best wishes -

Another question. I am going in Nov with some friends (girls weekend) and we are staying at OKW. We arrive late Friday (driving from SC) and are leaving early Monday AM. Can we get LOS passes and drop the arrival day AND the departure day???

Probably, but no guarantee as the official rules say arrival day or departure day. It's up to the discretion of the CM at the front desk. That said, I have not read of anyone being refused.

Actually the official rules say Length of Stay. On the old info LOS was specifically defined as including the day of arrivale AND departure. The newer Guidebook info does not spell out the specific example but I think it still implies the same rules, just less clearly so.
