UPH Ticket question

We will be arriving late on a Fri (after 6pm) and will probably be doing UPH tickets. I know that I have read that when you buy these it is possible to have either the 1st or last day dropped (ie staying 6 night would usually be a 7 day uph but if one day is dropped then it is a 6 day UPH).

My question is, can this be done when booking a room or does it have to be done at the resort at check in?

I don't really want to make 2 reservations (1 room only (either off site or at disney) and one then for the rest of the trip).

Well, I am sure that you can do it at checkin, because that is when I did it. My husband mentioned that we were too late checking in (late flight) to go to the parks, and they took that day off. :)

Not sure if you can do it ahead of time, but I can't imagine why not.

We are trying to figure out this same thing because we are leaving Orlando very early in the AM and would hate to pay for a UPH for that last day.

The way I am understanding it, if you want UPHs for anything other than the complete length of stay, you can only do that at the resort when checking in. The downside is that you lose the advance purchase price discount.

Is that right? Can any of the experts help us out??

If you purchase ahead of time, you MUST purchase for the entire reservation time period, but you get the advance purchase discount.

You may be able to have the first and/or last day knocked off of your UPHs when purchasing at the resort when checking in. You lose the advance purchase discount.

I have never heard of anyone being denied the option to take off a day or two, but the decision is up to the individual resorts, so it isn't official policy.

I went ahead and made two reservations- one for the first night, and one for the rest of our trip. As long as you make sure the ressies are linked as continuing reservations, you shouldn't have to change rooms. You will have to go through checkout/checkin, but it won't take a long time.

Good luck- hope this helps!:wave2:

Right now I will probably make a room only ressie and when/if any deals come out in the spring decide what to do. I think everything will depend on whether any deals are room only or complete packages. If it is room only then we will probably get a 7 day PHP. The benefit of this is the extras and the pluses do not expire.
